Worst moving experience ever. If I could give 0 stars I would. Movers arrived over 3 hours later than planned. I was given a quote and since the moving company goes by cubic foot for their pricing they gave me double my original quote at the very end of the moving process by which time all my items were loaded onto the truck. TVs arrived broken and do not work anymore. DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY YOU'RE BETTER OFF GETTING A UHAUL AND MOVING BY YOURSELF.

Save yourself from severe stress and anxieties!
They are a broker where they will low ball the estimates, ask for a down payment but when the real movers arrive, they will say there will be a quote adjustments then its too late for you the decline after all bookings, travel arrangements, reservations have been made. We paid extra $14k more from the original quote. Then, they held our items for 3 months and delivered them partially 2 weeks apart saying that our location is not in their traffic route. You will never hear from the 1st "consultant" you spoke to the first time. Stay away from this company like a plaque. Brought us severe stress and anxieties. This was our first bad experience from a mover and after retirement.

Coastal Moving Services (Poor Customer…
Coastal Moving Services (Poor Customer Experience)
I am submitting this to document my extremely poor experience with Coastal Moving Services and to warn others considering using this company. Moving is already stressful, but this company turned the process into a nightmare from start to finish.
Before booking, I created a detailed spreadsheet listing every box, its dimensions, and all items being moved. Despite this preparation, I received a call the day before pickup claiming I was already “over the estimated space” and would need to pay more. This felt like a bait-and-switch tactic after the estimate had already been agreed upon.
The situation got worse on moving day. I was given a pickup window of 2–4 PM, yet the crew arrived at 10 AM because they said my move was their last job of the day. I work from home and was not prepared for their early arrival, but allowed them to proceed. During loading, the crew again claimed I was over the allotted space, this time blaming my workout equipment because it “couldn’t be stacked.” This made no sense. I had clearly listed these items in advance, explained exactly what they were, and the space calculation should have already accounted for them. Being charged again for this was completely unreasonable.
While the movers were finishing up, I was on a work call and signed the paperwork so I could return to work. About 30 minutes later, I went to my basement and discovered several items had been left behind. I immediately called the driver, who did not answer, and then contacted customer service. I was told I had signed off on the shipment and was over space, despite the items simply being forgotten.
After pushing the issue, the driver asked me to send photos of the items left behind, which I did immediately. No one ever followed up or scheduled a pickup.
Customer service later told me the company is only a broker and has no visibility into where my belongings are. I have received conflicting information about delivery, and as of my latest update my items have not even left my home state and remain in a warehouse.
This experience has involved bait-and-switch pricing, poor communication, lack of accountability, and unhelpful customer service. Coastal Moving Services was quick to take payment but unable to provide basic support afterward. I strongly urge others to avoid using this company.

Worst company ever
Worst company ever! Daniel Thompson signed me up for a cross country move. "I'll be with you every step of the move"..."Here's my cell, call or text anytime". Well, he never responded again. They outsource to other shippers and have no control over what happens next. When the shipper arrived to begin my move, he looked at the larger items and said that he needed another $1000 from me, or he will send his crew home! I could not reach Daniel, that time or any other time after much of my stuff was damaged.

Avoid at all costs - extortionist tactics/shoddy work
Company initially quoted a price for services on February 24; the initial estimate was significantly higher than two others I received but they eventually discounted $1500. This was still slightly more than the other companies but I was assured by the customer service representative they would essentially give white glove service - hang/dismount TVs, help with significant clutter removal, disassemble a few other large items.
Initial quality assurance call was to occur on February 27; I had to call the company three times to get this done because no call was received at the quoted time. I then received a text (rather than a call like I was told) that the movers would arrive between 9am-12pm.
The movers did not arrive until 2pm. On arrival they told me the move (which was reviewed over a detailed video call, where every item was walked through) would be double the initial estimate. I called and attempted to cancel all services, but was told the $1500 deposit would be kept. With that being the case (and with me not having the time to fight with them over the deposit), I had them fill under the original terms with nothing additional paid.
The primary items at the original location (TVs, a large castle bed for my daughter, a trampoline) were untouched so they could minimize work. Because of the delay in arrival, they either will be unable to make it to the storage unit (which closes at 9pm) or will not assemble the beds (which was part of the contracted terms).
They also quoted an additional $600 cost to climb a few flights of stairs associated with the delivery - this wasn’t mentioned at any point during the estimate process/was never asked about.
A quick Google search (which I should have done prior to contracting) shows the atrocious reputation this company has. It’s well deserved.

I was lucky to record all phone calls…
I was lucky to record all phone calls because I was warned by 2 other company’s that coastal sucks you in with great quotes then start tacking on outrageous fees. This turns out to be true. I the original call I told them the items I needed moved that’s when I got the quote and signed the contract and paid the deposit. Yes that was stupid. I then received a phone call to confirm the inventory list. Which I gave in detail. They added 2000k to the bill. I paid it and went over the inventory list again. A couple days later the movers got to the house and said that even though there was space in the truck they only had a certain amount of space unless I paid more. Knowing what I needed moved from the beginning, I refused to pay more. They packed the truck leaving half of the couch, the dining room table after they took it apart which it was not made to be taken apart but lifted in pieces at a he house. Literally half of the list I gave them they left behind knowing the items I needed moved. I ended up just having them leave everything. I sent my lawyer all recorded phone calls and original contracts. He is taking it from here. He is also contacting the better business bureau. Which they already have complaints Do NOT TRUST THIS CORUPT COMPANY NO INTEGRITY!

Do not trust this company!
Do not trust this company!! They are taking your money to hire a local company. They make promises that the local brokers know nothing about! They make a promise, and then the movers know nothing about this. I had to relocate quickly because of repairs needed due to water damage. I explained that I would not have time to get everything packed, and I would need help.
Here are some examples of the problems I had...
1. When the movers got there, they immediately told me the job would actually cost $2600 more than what I had been quoted.
2. They knew nothing about packing the kitchen (a deal I made with Coastal Movers).
3. Coastal told me they would pack whatever I needed for $10/box. The movers knew nothing about this.
4. They damaged two pieces because they were moving very, very quickly.
5. Coastal Movers was not open when the movers arrived. They answered the phone and told me to call back in an hour when they were open.
6. Neither of the two people I worked with at Coastal was available when I ran into this conflict.
Coastal sucks. I was definitely ripped off. In the end I had to hire local movers who came in to help me get everything done and out of the apartment.

Bad customer service
Bad customer service. We came to a disagreement and now they won't return the $800 partial deposit I put down. Do not use. Report fraud.
