Bait and switch by increasing the price on the day of the move. The most valuable items are missing or heavily damaged. Driver refused to deliver to our new home.
I am heartbroken as I just discovered that our nicest painting and our largest TV were stolen by this company or the company in which they subcontracted to move us. They baited us into contracting with them by quoting us a very reasonable price for the move from FL to TN, even though they did a virtual tour of our home. On the day of our move (Jan. 15) Rapids Moving and Storage, the subcontracted company, showed up and almost immediately stated that they would not be able to move us for the amount quoted. They in fact doubled the price.
After many phone calls back and forth with Coastal Customer Service and my spouse, as he was at work, we were pressured into signing the new contract or they would not have moved us, and our tenant was scheduled to move in the following day. Long story short, they rushed to pack us up, therefore many pieces of our furniture were damaged, including our dining room table leg broken, lamp table broken, curio glass broken, china cabinet glass shelf broken, just to list a few. I have moved many times in my life, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. Do not fall for the SCAM because that’s exactly what it is. They quote you a low price to get your business, then they show up, double the price, force you to sign new contract, leaving you with no choice.

Buyer beware!
Buyer beware!! They lied to me on the phone about being able to get my deposit back if I changed my mind about moving to Florida. I did change my mind and they refused to return my close to $2,000. deposit. They are thieves and I would strongly suggest you find someone else. Again they lied to me and stole close to $2,000. from me. This guy is just so dishonest, I’m sure that Karma will get him. I’m praying it does. People like this should not be in business!!!

Breech of Contract, Bait and Switch, Threaten with prosecutions for calling much
3 days away from moving.
Bait and switch tactics, misrepresentation, breach of contract, and abusive customer service. Coastal Moving is not a moving company — they are a brokerage, something salesman Steven never disclosed. As a broker, they have no control over drivers, delivery timing, or who handles your belongings.
They will not honor a price match — apples to apples — the price and services I was promised. The contract was broken the minute it was signed. I have no good options: cancel and lose my deposit, or proceed without knowing whether I can afford it — potentially having to discard my belongings or rely on family and friends at the last minute.
I requested a refund multiple times. I was told management would review the recorded calls, but I never received follow-up. Other representatives gave conflicting answers — some said the calls could not be pulled, others said it would take two weeks. They were never reviewed. The system is designed to get customers to pay more than promised, force a cancellation while keeping your deposit, or pressure you into discarding possessions on moving day.
I have a move in 3 days and they are refusing to answer my calls. They threatened to report me to the Attorney General and press charges. The owner — either Law or Castro, according to public record — directly commanded representatives to block my number, which they did. All communication has been restricted to email. I have all calls recorded, as do they. Whenever I reached a point in a call they could not explain, they would hang up or place me on hold, saying, "I feel like you need to take a time out and take a breath." Those are their exact words.
I was never able to speak again with the salesperson who made the original promises, despite his assurance he would be available by call or text from 8am to 11pm. I called more than 20 times and was hung up on each time. I never got past asking why I was required to pay via ACH when I requested to use a credit card. ACH payments leave you with no bank recourse, whereas a credit card allows you to dispute charges. After exhausting every representative, my number was blocked at the direction of the owner, and I was told charges would be pressed if I continued to call.
I signed under duress, on the assurance I was receiving a price match equivalent to a pod-style move with movers for loading and unloading. The salesperson's explanations turned out to be deliberately misleading — I noticed discrepancies, asked about them, and was given convincing but false answers. They matched the price — but not the services. I am now being gaslit and told to "exist in reality" and stop using words like "duress" because they are "not based in reality."
Issue #1 — Salesperson Misconduct I have a disability, was going through a breakup, and was relocating across the country. The salesperson promised to price match my exact needs — equivalent to a U-Haul pod with movers. After I provided a complete inventory including furniture, itemized piece by piece, he entered it as plastic totes and bins only, with no furniture listed, and told me the total would be just under $2,400. He honored neither his budget commitment nor the price match he promised.
Issue #2 — Contract Discrepancies I provided a full inventory including furniture. The contract lists only totes and bins. I was told I was "adding items on," but the contract was written incorrectly from the start. The salesperson said this was how they hold space for uncertain inventory — later confirmed as standard practice by a female representative. Yet at the quality assurance review, that entry was not treated as a space hold — confirmed by three separate representatives.
Issue #3 — Customer Service Failures Representatives recite scripted responses and refuse to engage with specifics. When I raised the price matching issue, they became agitated and told me "there is no solution for you." They placed me on hold without warning whenever they could not answer a question. No compromise or resolution was ever offered.
What I Am Asking For Any one of the following resolutions would be acceptable:
Contact me via phone or in person to proactively to confirm my move is properly planned so I am not blindsided on moving day.
Honor the original price match with the equivalent services the salesperson promised.
Refund my deposit, as the salesperson misrepresented the service — confirmed by a female customer service representative, Rachel I believe, when she confirmed the salesperson misspoke.
I have recorded calls documenting everything above and am prepared to provide them. I simply want what I was promised, but ideally not have to rely on Coastal Moving Services, as they have been dishonest and continue to keep that policy.

Horrible, HORRIBLE service
Over charged me COMPLETLEY. They informed me that the move would be 3k off the bat and then made me pay 1683$ for some sort of deposit. I called MULTIPLE times where my stuff was to be told from the crew that picked up my stuff that it would take 4-5 business days to get to the destination. I was lied to. Customer support told me 12 business days instead. I then found out when the crew arrived to drop my stuff off, that three of my items were missing, a box full of stuff that I'm upset but not too worried about losing, my mattress which im upset about since I properly don't have a bed now AND a desk that I had which costed a good chunk of change. In order for me to file a claim with this company for their screw up I had to PAY THEM IN FULL. Do not use this company ever, they are awful, scammers, and criminals.

Bait & Switch all the way around
Bait & Switch all the way around. Started at $5k which made me commit. I added asome items at QA/logistics checkin and they added $2k. Movers were sub-contractors who did their best to fulfill the promise that Coastal made us, but it wasn't possible. About half of our items would not fit on the truck, yet we were made to pay throughout the process to keep the truck moving. Horrible experience. I will be reporting to the BBB, DOT, and Washington state Attorney General's office if they do not respond to my complaint. Be very wary. Their process is designed to promise, then confuse, then deal with hard working subs that try to fix Coastal's stupid promises.

Avoid at all cost
Avoid at all cost. Lowball quotes, then they ask for deposit, then once they have your money they x2 the quote, they confuse you about the volume. They lie on delivery date as well: they promised 10 days then when the movers were at our door we were told there was not delivery date guaranteed. Lies after lies. We sent back the movers, we are going to try to get our deposit back but we suspect they won’t answer. Do not work with these people.

Never hired a professional mover…
Never hired a professional mover before. We expected a full service move as we are both over 75 years of age. We go a quote for 15000 including packing out the old house and setting everything up in the new house. What we got- furnishing and clothing tossed into a box. Same box sized used for everything. Put garage items in same size boxes. Very few of the large boxes were full. They just packed into truck easily because of uniform size. Shoes were put in same box as towels and bedding. Crew loaded truck in about 5 hours with 5 man crew. At destination no one showed up but the driver he made several calls and got 2 men to come unload truck. Nice fellows but not the the professional movers who were to set everything up. They unloaded the truck as that was what they were hired to do. Boxes were mislabeled. So we had items in the wrong rooms. They did not unpack anything and did not set up the beds as expected. We now have our daughter and grandson doing the bed set up

Scammers
Movers were accommodating and easy to communicate with!

The above review was not "unprompted." I perfectly laid out my moving boxes that were already labeled and taped shut into a 6'x6' square so I knew for sure that I was under the cubic footage limitation for my move. When the movers arrived in a rented U Haul, they proceeded to tell me I was hundreds of feet OVER which would result in an addition $400 charge. I argued back because I was well under and I knew it. So, they eventually "waived" the $400 charge in exchange for 2 reviews. One from me and one from my partner. We had to provide proof of these reviews. I addition to that mess, they disassembled some of my things only half way resulting in lost screws, a desk that is now wobbly, and I even had to leave an entire shelf behind because they didnt know how to take it apart. I did not realize that I was hiring a broker when I paid for my move but that is exactly what happened. My invoice was from Loadrans so watch out for that company name as well as the broker, "Moving Solutions LLC."
