Little did I know that this company is…
Little did I know that this company is actually a broker and sublets the actual moving to other companies until it was too late. Initial quote based on house size, $2,600. Later gave a compete list of the items, still smaller than a typical three bedroom home and even less than a two bedroom home, $4,200. Company comes to load up (with less items than the most recent quote, and not a few less, a lot less) and calculates the cubic feet and the price goes up to $5,700. At that point you want them to unload the truck back into the house but you are stuck with it. Big time Bait and Switch every step of the way, and once they’ve got you good luck getting them to answer the phone. The contract also states they have twelve working days starting on the potential first date of delivery to finally arrive with your stuff. Finally after two weeks from the initial delivery date, three total for the move, they called—but they also wanted to deliver in an hour, and it was already nine PM. Who has that kind of flexibility? Also, who can live in their new house with absolutely nothing but a couple of suitcases worth of stuff for three or more weeks? Even the fellow (who was extremely nice, btw- we bought him lunch and gave a really nice tip) who delivered it looked over the paperwork and was shocked by the cubic foot pricing at the pickup considering how few items he delivered, 25 boxes, one queen bed, one sofa, two chairs, small kitchen table and chairs, one standard dresser and two smaller dressers. Honestly it may have been cheaper to dump everything and buy new than to move it. It’s not like anything was top of the line stuff. Oh, and the mover was alone, no one else showed up to assist him, I had to help. Why does delivery take so long? Because the trucks need to be full to move from warehouse to warehouse. Mine went from Albuquerque to Los Angeles to San Francisco and finally to Sonoma. At no point after the initial pickup was I comfortable with the move. I felt utterly helpless, uninformed, and never even sure if I’d ever see the stuff again, and wondering if someone would show up and then demand even more money to unload the truck. Never would I recommend this company. Never. This company posts-per trustpilot- fake reviews and has been caught doing so, if you look at their ratings it is either one star or five stars. Which reviews would you believe, the one sentence five star or the long form one star nightmares?
