Since we offer all groups unlimited hints, sometimes the game master might chime in unprompted if the group appears to be struggling, however it's possible the game master may have misread the situation if it felt excessive to your team. Hi there, this is Nick (the manager). I'm sorry to hear that you did not really enjoy your experience in the Villains Lair room. I can assure you that this is not typical of our customers experience (if you Google search our company name, you'll notice on pretty much any review platform we have a near-perfect five star rating). That being said, I do consider your complaints to be valid ones, and in regards to the host, I have already spoken with her about the possibility that she may have given away too much information during your game. This has not been a problem with her in the past, but she is definitely aware to keep a closer eye on this for future games. In regards to your complaints about the game itself, although we have not had many complaints about the videos, since it really does lend itself towards the back story of the game, and is directly linked to a specific puzzle with in the room, I will definitely take your comment into consideration for any possible near future upgrades. In regards to the props within the room, I personally would have to disagree that the items themselves are "cheap". We definitely did make a point to acquire props that best fit the theme, and would be durable enough to handle multiple daily wear from hundreds of customers. And in addition to that, whenever an item gets overly worn, we immediately replace it with our backups. All that being said, I'm definitely saddened that your experience with us was not 100% satisfactory, and I would love to offer you a steep discount to return and try one of our other three rooms so that we can redeem your experience at our escape room. Hi Jodi! Thanks so much for that honest review! Here at Clue Avenue we're all about constructive criticism from our customers because that gives us the opportunity we need to better improve our game. I really appreciate your feedback, and very specific comments about our new Dreamscape room. As you mentioned, this is a brand new room for us, and you were one of the first paying customers that went through. We anticipate that this new themed room will "evolve" quite a bit over the next few weeks and months as we continue to learn how different types of teams perform in this room. Just as an example, the current version of our "Villain's Lair" room (which first opened almost 2 years ago) is VERY different from it's initial version when we first started taking bookings for it. And it was thanks to honest customers like you that gave us some great feedback (which we promptly acted on!). That being said, I've already shared your review with the other owners of Clue Avenue and had a thorough conversation with them about each point you've mentioned in your review, and from that discussion we've already come up with 3 "action items" that we believe will help mitigate some of the problems you've mentioned within the Dreamscape room. I've also reached out to the employee who ran your game to get some further context about how things went during your game, and have come up with some further ways in which we could improve future Dreamscape customer's experiences.
