I am a senior marketing executive with over 20 paid expert consultations behind me, 19 of them for Tegus, without a single complaint. On September 24, 2026 I completed a 90-minute research session for CleverX with a confirmed fee of $500. Their operations lead, Mir Ali, promised in writing that payment would arrive by Friday, October 16. It never came. My follow-up on October 17 was ignored. Only after I escalated to founder and CEO Sharekh Shaikh on October 20 did anyone respond. The response claimed the client felt my session focused on "selling." I presented exactly what their own brief asked for: a walkthrough of AI and automation workflows, using my deck as the working example, the format agreed in advance. There was no product, no pitch, nothing for sale. The $500 was released the same morning as my escalation, 26 days after the session. My surveys with CleverX followed the same pattern: payment only after repeated chasing. If you are an expert considering this platform, expect your fee to be sat on until you fight for it.

This is the most deceptive platform I've ever used in my entire life. They send you opportunities, make you spend substantial time qualifying for them, and then leave them "in review" for months. The only conclusion one can come to is that the "qualifiers" are the actual surveys, used by either the platform or the researchers utilizing it to collect the data they need. I've also had instances where I qualified, completed the full survey with the most in-depth responses possible, and had my responses "rejected" without explanation, canceling the compensation for the survey. For the few surveys for which I did get compensation added to my account, I had to exchange dozens of messages with their support team to basically force them to actually transfer the funds because none of the workflows on this website actually work. Since then, the support has worsened and become worse than what you'd expect from your utility provider or USPS, because it is basically nonexistent. No one ever responds to your emails. It really feels like a ghost company that died a long time ago but continues to exist on the internet just to scam people. I decided to give it one last try recently after being invited to, and qualifying for, a high-paying and interesting opportunity. After completing approximately 80% of the lengthy and detailed technical survey, right before entering the last section, I got kicked out of the survey, only to be told that the "survey is now full" and that no new responses would be submitted or compensated for. If it weren't a tiny niche company, it would have already been investigated by the FCC. Mind you, the surveys I'm describing are not $10 surveys. They are quite highly paid, lengthy, and extensive. P.S. I will remove or update my review if I get paid for the surveys that have been "pending" (forever!) and for the last experience I described above, where all the information was collected from me right before I was kicked out.

Terrible platform. They constantly send me executive surveys, I qualify, but the link to thr survey doesn’t work. And service is non existent, nobody responds to emails. Waste of time.

*NOT TO BE TRUSTED* DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH YOUR TIME! They never get back to support tickets On purpose, they let several studies “in progress” for months but they use your data. If you get paid once or twice it’s just the beginning to make you contribute harder and then they don’t even reply or pay. Their system is built to fail respondents and avoid issuing payments - "tremendous api error" BLACKLIST CLEVER X! ...The only thing "Clever" about them is how they trick respondents into giving them their time, data, and insights without paying for it!! (I would've given 0 stars if that was an option.)

I regret to confirm what I reading here on some recent reviews. I took part to a number of services and have not received a payment. When I contact them, no answer.

I've done multiple surveys (the earliest 6 months ago) and never received any payment and their customer service team don't respond to any of my emails about it. Avoid them and save your time! Update: 4 months after this review I was contacted about it by CleverX, who paid out 3 of the 4 outstanding surveys and apologized.

Complete scam - do not use. Completed survey and still waiting for payment months later. Emailed the company asking for payment details but no response to emails. Constantly receiving requests to fill in more surveys.

SCAM - Confirming what the others experts are saying, you spend time filling in surveys, and you spend even more time awaiting for payments to arrive. Disclaimer: it never does. Other Expert networks pay in 2/4 days for the fastest, and 10/20 days for the slowest. CleverX is in its own competition here.
