This bank has problems. it says one can access accounts 24/7. Not true. I have not been able to check my account for several months. I see others have the same problem. This is not acceptable. Update: I called the number CIT bank left for me. It was an unpleasant experience. The person had to follow a ridiculously long proceedure that took ages. Even then it didn't work several times. Finally I got access to my account and withdrew all my funds. Apparently they upgraded their access to online banking without informing their customers! I recommend having nothing to do with them.

In an era of instantaneous electronic funds transfers, the amount of time it takes to get money into a CIT account is unconscionable. That, along with their cumbersome app, makes it nearly impossible to know how much money is actually in one’s account, and how much is on its way. These delays and its poor app lead to duplicate transfers (which, of course, can be rejected due to insufficient funds), and total confusion about how much money is my accounts. I haven’t tried to get money out of CIT, but given how long it takes to transfer money into it, I plan to give them weeks to transfer funds instead of the hours or days funds transfers occur with Goldman Sachs or AmEx. I regret setting up an account with this institution and would advise others to stay away.

I normally leave reviews on google, good and bad, but since CIT has no address there isn’t an option. I would have left a very good review, they answer the phone quickly, are friendly and helpful. The only problem is they do not tell you the truth or anything you can rely on. I opened an account, verified it was in the promotion, put in what to me is a very large sum of money to get the maximum promotion bonus and waited the 30 days. I was told by some people I was in the bonus, by some I am not after the 30 days. I can’t get verification that I will be paid the bonus from anyone in writing. I met the requirements, was told my account was enrolled, and now after being told yesterday I had already earned the bonus, told I am told my account isn’t even enrolled. Certainly not worth $300. I would avoid like the plauge.

When I initially opened a savings account in early 2024 and opted in for paperless statements, I received a monthly email notifying me when statements were available. This lasted about three months. Starting in July 2024, the email notices stopped. I contacted them several times requesting the problem be resolved. Each time I received identical canned responses...sorry for the inconvenience, this is how you can download a statement (like I'm an idiot and couldn't figure that out for myself), and we are working hard to fix it. By March 2025, 9 months without an email notice, I'm done. Never got the sense they cared at all. Only reason for the second star is competitive rates, but their customer service negates that benefit. Update 3/11/2025: CIT's reply reinforces my review. Instead of addressing their inability to generate email notices when statements are ready, they offer to help me retrieve statements, which I've already downloaded.

I am wary of CIT for two reasons: 1. They switch rates frequently and develop new names for accounts that have better interest and try to get you to call in to open the better interest rate account, 2. They have (had) a policy that you could not access(transfer) your money unless you called in to listen to a sales pitch and defend why you wanted to withdraw assets.

Good luck wiring your $ if you need to. You know your hard earned $$$ to buy a house or WHATEVER! Its my $$$ and I cant access it when I need it. I've Been trying to wire $ for 4 days! Not only does it not work, they're only answer is sorry, we know its an issue but we can send you a check... and they can't even tell me when the issue will be fixed. I am cancelling my account as soon as my CD matures.

Great rates but for a bank that exists online only their IT and app totally sucks.

Great interest rates but after I made one withdrawal I have never been able to access my account. Have made numerous CORRECT login attempts but no luck. Customer service has tried but no luck. Plan to cancel after I receive tax info.
