I'm a business traveller who seeked to use the support of CIBT to obtain a business visa for Thailand. While German citizens (which I am) can travel without Visa for vacation, for business trips it is required. Mid January I have started the application process. - The documents listed to be required were not complete right from the start - The documents submitted manually afterwards were not received, processed or taken care of in any regard - CIBT kept sending email to submit documents that have already been provided three times - Customer service employee hung up on me - Intervention with account management has preliminary helped, but again no response from CIBT on the process Dear Corporations, do not select this company as a service provider of choice unless you want to burden your internal resources and employees with hour long emails, calls and chats leading to nowhere. It is a business risk.

Without a doubt the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with. Cant even organise a courier. 3 times I had to book one over the phone. The reason I had to phone is because their online booking platform didnt work. Twice I was given a verbal confirmation over the phone and was told to wait between 0900 and 1600. They couldnt narrow the time down. The first 2 times the courier didnt arrive. So I wasted 2 days sitting at home. Calling CIBT I was told neither one of the first two bookings for the courier were never made. The third time a courier did arrive, at 1630, but wouldnt take my passport and documents as it wasnt in a satchel and didnt have a consignment note attached. I was told by CIBT to put in a A4 sized envelope. I have cancelled my trip to Algeria now. Purely because these clowns are completely incompetent and I am not letting them anywhere near my passport now. Do not have anything to do with these people under any circumstances.

I paid CIBT for help renewing my passport. I never received a followup email w a request for photos or documents. I’ve been on hold for one hour and no one is picking up. I left my call-back number, and no one called me back. This may be a scam.

No communication. Doesn't reply to emails. Website doesn't work. Had to use a different service after paying them $750. Beware this place is a Scam..............

Did not deliver Applied for a Brazilian Visa, which had been sprung on us a month before our cruise. Nothing but trouble from the very beginning. Started with VFSBrazil, but after rejecting documents, they would not respond to emails and no way to call them. After two weeks contacted CIBT, paid for expedited service, and submitted documents. The bank statement document kept being rejected, which probably wasn't their fault. On my first call to CIBT, I was told that someone would call me back, or if they couldn't get me on the phone they would email me. That never happened. I began calling every day, and eventually I was told I would get me visa on January 4th. Each time I called I was on hold for 45 minutes or more before being connected to an agent. I told them numerous times that we were leaving on the 6th. We are leaving tomorrow and still no visa. Yesterday I received an email from the cruise line stating they had negotiated with Brazil and they were postponing implementation of the visa requirement for 90 days. I realize that most of the problems probably were caused by Brazil implementing the visa requirement, but I was not impressed with the service provided by CIBT.

Don't even try with CIBT. Like the other complaints here, I had given my credit card info. for help in securing a Chinese visa via the Chicago Chinese Consulate. CIBT never contacted me. Called the two different 800 numbers numerous times over several days; consistently placed on hold, then referred to voice mail informing me that voice mail was full. After 11 days, I emailed "support" to cancel. Someone from NY called the next day to convince me to stay with them. I insisted to cancel, then he stated that I would be charged a "$200 cancelation fee" - which was never mentioned on their website. I protested, but they immediately withdrew $200 from my credit card. Of course, I then had to apply for a replacement credit card causing me more time. CIBT is a scam and waste of time. Finally got my visa quickly thru another Chicago based visa services company with no problems, at no charge until they received my information, and at less than half the cost of CIBT would have charged. CIBT appears to a total scam operation.

I tried to use CIBT Visas for an Indonesian Visa for an upcoming cruise. I paid the fee, provided the required information and from there it went down hill. Over a two month period, I emailed back and forth with them and talked with several people on their 800#. In the end they were unable to get the Visa for me and could not give me a reasonable explanation for what the problem was. And, still charged me a huge cancellation fee - even though they never provided me any service. After working with the Indonesian Consulate in San Francisco, I was able to finally get an Indonesian Visa - no thanks to CIBT!

Before you start plunking down any money with CIBT, give them a call and see if they answer. I tried 3 times, each waiting for half an hour - no one every picked up. Sending an email only works if you wish to pay more for something. This is pretty much a Chinese-owned company that pretends to be "international" but they are out to get more money and make you pay more than you expect.
