Avoid at All Costs! This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If you read their reviews, you’ll see a pattern—stay away! Our company was using them for background checks, typically ranging from $12 to $40, but they suddenly charged us $380 for a single employee and claimed they had the right to do so. This is nothing short of a rip-off. Leaving them is worth the money they unjustly took from us. Small businesses, beware! Don’t let them take advantage of you. I highly recommend filing complaints with state and federal agencies and reporting them to the appropriate authorities.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to work at Checkers especially the one in Glen Balad Mall. Management sucks there and there is no professionalism at all. It became worse when branch management change. Terrence Segal makes it not worth going to work. Any slightest inconvenience warnings are issued out. He abuses he's power and does not want to be told. He goes around telling us (employees. Me too) that warnings are necessary. I signed a 12 months warning when I asked why this period I was not given a straight answer. When refusal to sign he bluntly told me he'll record that I am arrogant, don't listen plus he'll use the warnings he issued to back him up and look like I am the bad person. We cook for mangers, make tea anytime of the day. How's that possible? It is not nice going to that toxic environment knowing that beofe one could knock off 5 or more warnings are going to be issued. That man will make sure he also opens air-conditions to it's highest and will tell you its because women there wear mini shorts (even though it's not). What does that have to do with him?

So, Checkr and I have a bit of a history, shall we say. Last time we tangoed, for a previous employer, it was a month-long waltz. I was promised a job, but by the time Checkr finished its performance, I nearly had a beard and a collection of vintage board games. Now, less than six months later, we're doing the same dance for a new opportunity, and the band is still playing the same slow tune. It's been a month again, and I'm starting to wonder if Checkr's operating on 'dog years' time. Also, I noticed a rather enthusiastic hard inquiry on my credit report. Now, I'm all for a thorough investigation, but I don't recall signing up for a credit score rollercoaster. I've reread the consent form, and it seems to be missing the 'credit-score-thrill-ride' section. Could you clarify if this is a standard part of the Checkr experience, or am I accidentally starring in some kind of financial mystery theater?

They only have support for the person having the background check. If you are the employer, there is no one to talk to - Only chat and email. Horrible customer service. They do not care that you have already paid. Zero customer service for the company requesting the information and paying the bill.

Absolutely terrible company. I tried explaining to them they were reading my citations incorrectly and they refuse to listen. I have never in my entire life failed a background check and they have failed me every time a company used them. They should be shut down

Breaking privacy laws. Numerous denials and incorrect data. They refuse to allow any company employee and former staff of mine to opt out. They seem to be very certain that they are not bound to the laws of the United States. They seem to think my team and me personally have such valuable information about ourselves as individuals that they send denial emails and dispute the law. Checkr is a private company that was founded in 2014 by Daniel Yanisse and Jonathan Perichon. As of my knowledge cutoff in October 2024, Checkr remains a privately held company, though it has gone through several funding rounds with major investors. While I don't have information about the current exact ownership breakdown, Checkr has received significant venture capital funding from investors including: Accel Y Combinator IVP (Institutional Venture Partners) T. Checkr did a background check on me for Spark Driver. They claimed my License was invalid which it wasn't. Trying to use their portal like they asked to dispute this and the portal isn't working. I am now on the phone waiting for a human to answer and it's been over 1.5 hours still listening to elevator music. Then I read all the negative comments about their horrible service. Can't anyone do anything about this crap. Now I can't have the side gig I wanted because of checkr bad ways of doing business. And for some reason Walmart uses them

Wow I come here ready to give a one star, shd've come here sooner than waste my money. Yup they suck. [...] Real question here is how BBB.org rate them an A+? Very interesting. They took over two weeks but the worst part my background check was inconclusive! Bih ahh mug service representative (Jasmin h) reiterated each time in the chat 1. checkr background parameters, 2. link to their faq, 3 'Can I help you with anything else?' My check did not include a search in my county home of record. That is highly un background checkr of them. I am almost certain they rely on some outdated "SYSTEM" to do the entire process and use <0.1% human oversight to check for errors and consistency with their software. Another -1- star.
