This company I feel discriminated against me. I signed up to deliver however I discovered I entered one of my digits wrong on my Social Security number so my background check came back. It’s not being able to verify my social. I contacted CHECKR and was told to contact Uber Eats that they could fix it for me and resend the link for them to verify my Social Security number. I contacted Uber Eats and told them this an Uber eats said that they can’t fix it. I have to go back and speak to CHECKER so I went back and I spoke to them again and they’re telling me the same thing that Uber Eats has the tools to fix this issue. However, Uber eats are refusing to allow me to fix the issue and I believe it’s because I’m Nigerian living in America. In which I explained to them this and now all of a sudden, I’m having all of these issues. I Also Dr., Uber in Nigeria with a LEGIT Uber account so I don’t understand. What’s the issue in America. As I’ve applied to drive in America. Uber Eats is telling me that third-party that does their background checks has the tools to fix my issue but my third-party are telling me they don’t have the tools they’re saying that Uber Eats has the tools to fix it. I keep getting the runaround.
Response from CheckrFeb 13, 2026
I understand how frustrating this must be, especially when the only issue is a single mistyped digit and it leads to a “unable to verify” result on your Social Security number.
You’re also right to call out the loop you’ve been stuck in: you reached out to Checkr and were told Uber Eats would need to resend the link / restart the request, but then Uber Eats told you they can’t make that change. Getting bounced back and forth like that makes it really hard to know what the next step is.
I also understand why you’re concerned about how this is being handled, particularly after you’ve been able to drive with Uber previously in another country and expected the process to be straightforward here. I want to look into this personally and confirm what options exist to correct the information and get you unstuck.

Checkr is hands down the worst…
Checkr is hands down the worst background check company that I have ever encountered. Their live customer service are rude and misleading. They cost me 2 jobs for their inaccurate findings . If you have a valid claim that shows they reported inaccurate information then when you dispute the info they will just find some other peice if inaccurate information to pull up on you to cover themselves.
Response from CheckrFeb 9, 2026
Erik — that’s frustrating to read, and you’re right to flag it.
First, the way you were treated by live support is unacceptable. If you felt the team was rude or gave you information that didn’t line up with what was actually happening with your report, that’s not the experience we want anyone to have.
Second, I understand why this is such a big deal if the report contained inaccuracies and you believe it directly cost you two job opportunities. When a background check impacts employment decisions, the information has to be handled with real care.
Third, it’s also concerning to hear that when you raised a dispute with documentation, it felt like the dispute didn’t actually resolve the problem and that different inaccuracies kept surfacing instead of the original issue being addressed clearly. That’s not how the dispute process should feel from your side.
I want to look into this personally. I’m going to send you a private message through Trustpilot to get the details I need so I can follow up with you directly.

Worst background check ever customer…
Worst background check ever customer service are robots that won't help with anything no numbers to call
Response from CheckrFeb 9, 2026
Bradley — that’s frustrating, and you’re right to flag it.
When you reach out for help and the responses feel automated or like you’re just going in circles, it can make an already stressful background check process feel impossible to navigate.
You also mentioned not being able to find a phone number to call, which can be especially tough when you need real-time help or have a time-sensitive question.

If I could give zero stars
If I could give zero stars, I would. They inaccurately had something on my record after I explained what it was, which was a probation for six months after I was a newly licensed driver. They still left it as a miscellaneous charge on my motor vehicle record, and I’ve been trying to contact them back-and-forth they won’t give me a call and I have been emailed by several different checker employees and they’ve asked me for the same information very aggravating and it’s affecting my employment opportunities. Sittercity needs to find a better background check company.
Response from CheckrFeb 9, 2026
Stav — you’re right to be upset about this.
Seeing something listed on your motor vehicle record as a “miscellaneous charge” after you provided context about a six‑month probation from when you were a newly licensed driver is understandably concerning—especially when it’s affecting employment opportunities.
It’s also really aggravating that you’ve been going back and forth without getting a call, and that you’ve been contacted by multiple Checkr team members who asked you for the same details repeatedly. I can see how that would feel like you’re stuck in a loop instead of getting a clear resolution.
I’m going to send you a private message through Trustpilot to get the details I need so I can follow up with you directly and make sure your case is reviewed by the right team with the full context.

Buyer beware
Buyer beware. I ordered a check, and never received it. Their "customer service" is a joke and are incredibly frustrating. They closed my ticket without resolution and on my BBB complaint they keep telling me to go back to the thread where the whole cycle just started all over again. They have no number to call and get help.
Response from CheckrFeb 9, 2026
Hello — you’re right to flag this.
If you ordered a background check and never received the completed report, I understand why that would feel alarming and leave you stuck.
It’s also unacceptable that your support ticket was closed without the issue being resolved. When a case is closed prematurely, it can create extra work on your side just to get back to where you started.
And I can see why the BBB complaint experience felt like a dead end if you were repeatedly directed back to the same email thread and the process simply restarted. Not having a phone number to call for help only adds to that.

worst experience of my life
This is the worst background check company ever. They don't know any local laws or processes. They don't know what they are doing. They are currently delaying my employment because they wait a document from my local government. However, my local government only sends it to me, and I need to send it to Checkr. I am sending it to them, and all I receive is a generic AI response saying that they are waiting for the document. I am going to lose my mind due to their stupidity. Any companies out there who want to use them, stay away at all costs, or you are going to lose your talent.
Response from CheckrFeb 9, 2026
Verona — you’re right to call this out.
It’s really concerning to hear that your report is holding up your start date, especially when you’ve been trying to provide the document needed to move things forward.
You also raised an important point about the local process: if your local government only releases the document to you (not directly to Checkr), being told repeatedly that we’re still “waiting on the document” after you’ve already sent it would feel like a dead end.
And I understand why the generic, automated replies you’re getting make this even harder—when employment is on the line, you need clear confirmation of what was received and what the next step is.
I want to look into this personally. I’m going to send you a private message through Trustpilot to get the details I need so I can follow up with you directly.

Inhuman AI slop
Terrible, terrible AI slop experience from start to finish.
1. Time wasters: during onboarding, it took me 3+ hours to go through the process multiple times because if you go back to check you didn't forget anything, you get sections with missing information that you already submitted, randomly. Went back to see if you completed your employment history correctly? Woosh, its gone, do it again! Wondering if your education history is still there? It might be, but if you try to go back to check it, it might vanish!
2. There's no "review" stage before submitting your info, so you're anxious if YOU forgot something, and you're doubly anxious if THEIR incompetent systems just didn't save a whole section.
3. They contacted me 3 times for one employer and 2 for another to provide them details I had already provided. In an automated form, in a textbox that fits 20 characters in a single line, while asking for my employer's full name and address.
4. When I emailed expressing my anxiousness since they're asking the SAME stuff every single time, they said that I should provide info X which is what I was already providing them. All systems are automated and there's no way to clear up any of their incompetent steps or prompts.
5. If you try to contact them to clear up anything, you can't find a phone number, you can't find an email, but what you do get is a terrible AI chat which has nothing useful to offer. You have to insist to talk to a human, but it won't budge unless you converse with it for a while. You then don't get to chat with a human, but it opens a ticket via email which is "answered" by the same terrible AI sloppy agent, and you have to continue prompting it multiple times via email for a human before someone answers, with a generic, unhelpful answer.
6. They're extremely slow with almost every single step. They failed to contact both my employers, even though they're both a single call or email away - and I confirmed with both employers twice throughout the process that they are responsive and willing via the phones/addresses I provided Checkr with.
7. It took them a month to finish the checks. A whole month to check two universities, two employers and my criminal record. And fail both the employers with red. Even my universities came back yellow instead of green because I completed "MSc of xxx" instead of just "Master of Science" in the "Degree" field.
This whole process left me feeling helpless and stressed about my new work, for a month. My employer allowed me to start working before the checks finished, and I was left exposed by Checkr but fortunately my employer was willing to perform the employment checks themselves and managed to verify everything within a business day.
//edit: I appreciate Damien getting back on behalf of a Checkr and validating my grievances. I hope Checkr can indeed improve but these failings seem pervasive and a product of the business model itself rather than a bunch of broken processes.
Response from CheckrFeb 9, 2026
Hello — that sounds exhausting, and you’re right to call it out.
First, the onboarding experience you described (spending 3+ hours re-entering information because previously completed sections would disappear when you navigated back) is unacceptable. If the system isn’t reliably saving what you’ve already submitted, it turns a straightforward form into a time sink.
Second, not having a clear “review” step before submission would understandably make you anxious—both about missing something yourself and about whether the platform actually captured everything you entered.
Third, being asked multiple times for the same employer details (three times for one employer and twice for another) after you already provided them—especially in a cramped text field that doesn’t fit full names/addresses—creates needless back-and-forth and confusion.
I want to look into this personally. The experience you described with support (AI chat gating access to a person, tickets answered with generic replies, and having to repeatedly push for a human response) isn’t how getting help should work.
You also mentioned the pace of the check: taking about a month for two universities, two employers, and a criminal search, plus issues where employment checks weren’t completed even though your employers were reachable and responsive. On top of that, seeing a “yellow” result over the way a degree was entered (e.g., “MSc of …” vs “Master of Science”) is the kind of thing that would understandably make the whole process feel brittle and high-stakes.
I’m going to send you a private message through Trustpilot to get the details I need (so we can locate your report and support interactions) and I can follow up with you directly.

Terrible service & customer service
after 2 weeks and multiple follow ups on my side, they still have not sent out the request for background check that I submitted
Response from CheckrFeb 9, 2026
Nikos — thanks for putting this on our radar, because this isn’t how the process should go.
Having to follow up multiple times over the course of two weeks and still not seeing the background check request you submitted get sent out would understandably make you feel like nothing is moving.
And when you’re at the point of chasing updates just to get the check started, it creates unnecessary stress—especially if you’re trying to keep a hiring process on track.
