I searched for Claude and found something using a logo similar to Claude's, branded 'Powered by Claude AI'. Complete scam. I requested a refund within an hour, and they strung me along for weeks. Their own T&Cs say EU, UK and Turkish customers are entitled to a refund, but they get around this with clause 4, which covers them for 'User Error'. Their business practices are an absolute disgrace. You just have to search Reddit to see how many people have the same issue.

chatly is a scam of claude
I was searching to buy a Claude subscription and Chatly popped up at the top. I didn't realize it wasn't the official site, saw what looked like a €50 offer, and signed up. Right after checking out, I noticed they actually charged my card €99.91. I immediately contacted support to ask for a full refund. They refused and offered a partial refund instead, claiming they had to deduct a "usage fee" for the few messages used before I realized what happened. I didn't want to accept a partial refund for something that was misleading from the start, so I opened a dispute with my bank. Once the bank dispute started, Chatly sent me an email trying to pressure me into dropping it: "If you choose to continue with a dispute... you may even lose out on your entire payment. You would also have to wait at least 2 months for a decision. On the other hand, you can retrieve [partial refund] today..." Basically, they are using the 2-month bank investigation wait time to try to persuade me to take the partial offer and cancel the chargeback. I told them I'm not accepting a partial refund and I'd rather just wait for the bank's final decision. I'm still waiting to see how the bank chargeback plays out, but I wanted to post this here so people are aware of how their support handles these situations and the kind of emails they send once a dispute is opened

Don't give up — you can get most of your money back
I was tricked into subscribing to Chatly after searching for Claude AI on Google. Their ad appeared at the top of the results, looking just like the official service. I realized within 3 minutes of purchasing ($90/year) that this was not Claude, and I immediately requested a cancellation and full refund.
They repeatedly denied my refund, hiding behind their policy. But I didn't give up — and in the end I recovered $70 of the $90.
Here's what worked:
First, keep emailing even when you only get bot responses. After contacting them several times, I was finally connected to a real human agent. Don't stop at the first or second automated reply.
Second, framing matters. They will call it an "accidental purchase" to fit their no-refund policy. Don't accept that framing. This was not carelessness on your part — it was their misleading advertising. State that distinction clearly and repeatedly.
Third, file a chargeback with your credit card company. The moment Chatly knew I had filed a dispute, they began negotiating and offered a partial refund of $70. My card issuer also pursued the case in parallel.
The full $90 was not recovered — the company held firm at $70 through the dispute process. But recovering most of it is far better than the nothing that most people walk away with.
If you were caught by this same trick, please don't assume it was your fault. It wasn't. Their ads are deliberately designed to make you think you're buying Claude or ChatGPT. Document everything, act quickly, and don't give up.

Misleading ads, zero refund flexibility
I subscribed to Chatly's annual plan (€98) after clicking on a sponsored ad that appeared when I searched for "Claude", the AI product from Anthropic. I genuinely believed I was subscribing to Claude AI. Within minutes of realizing this was a different, unrelated service, I contacted support to request a cancellation and refund.
Support confirmed the subscription would not renew, but refused any refund, citing their policy that "mistaken assumptions" about the service aren't covered, even when the service was barely used. I then asked, as a compromise, to be charged for one month only and refunded the difference. This was also refused, they don't offer prorated refunds under any circumstances.
To be fair, support was polite and responded quickly. But I paid €98 for a service I used for a few minutes, because their ad appeared on a search for a well-known competitor's product. They point out that ad placement is managed by Google, not them, which may be true, but the outcome for the customer is the same: real confusion, and no flexibility once the mistake is made.
If you're searching for "Claude" or "ChatGPT", double check the URL before subscribing.

They stole my money
They stole my money. I paid, thinking it was Claude. I immediately found out when I wanted to use it. I went to ask for a refund, saying that I am in the UK, I can ask for a refund within 14 days. Their answer: 'Unfortunately, we do not provide refunds for mistaken or accidental purchases.' I didn't use it once. I asked for my refund immediately after the purchase. Scam!!!!

I just realised that this is a…
I just realised that this is a Pakistan-based company. No wonder it's a fraud. Somehow, they are running ads on Google for Claude & I fell for it. When I contacted them for a refund, they wouldn't refund. A total scam company! They dont even have the paid version of all the models they are claiming to be offering!
I wish I would have checked Trust Pilot reviews before signing up here!

It's a scam pretending to be claude
It's a scam pretending to be claude. You pay for a pitiful amount of credits. Even the monthy subscription gives you 5k of credits PER MONTH which isn't even an hours use on a project.
