Overall, the process with CESI was great. It was easy to get started and the payoff process was almost seamless. At the very end there was a little confusion about the actual final balances due, and because of this, several accounts showed as paid off with CESI when they actually weren't. Maybe it should be a requirement that 90 days before your end date on the program, participants should be required to reach out to the creditors and obtain the actual remaining balance. It was suggested but wasn't enforced and it kind of messed me up in the end. But I was able to identify the accounts that still had a balance and pay them off directly. One other thing to remember is that your accounts will CLOSE once they are settled which will decrease your credit score for a while until you rebuild. Major downside for me but I'm working through it and glad the credit cards are paid off.

We so appreciate your feedback! Congratulations on getting your debt paid off - that's a tremendous accomplishment! Since your creditors do not report directly to us, our records have estimated balances throughout the term of the program. As you stated, it's wise for our participants to give us updated account information as they are getting close to finishing their repayment so that we can make sure all final payments are made through your DMP program. It's ideal to periodically update us with your balances throughout the program as well. I also wanted to mention that since Debt Management Programs are a full repayment program, they are not listed as a settlement, though you are correct that typically creditors will close an account once it is enrolled in a Debt Management Plan so that they are not granting program benefits while you are still utilizing the account. We do have a resource for information about credit that many clients have found useful - we can email you a copy of this eBook if you would find it helpful! Working with the company was easy, but even though your creditors agree to an among for pay off, some are still left with a balance.
