I flew with Centrum Air from Tashkent…
I flew with Centrum Air from Tashkent to Trabzon. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed by approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. The most disappointing part of our trip was the check-in experience. We were traveling as two passengers with two checked bags, two carry-on bags, two backpacks (one for my son and one for me), and I was wearing a small crossbody bag. Each carry-on already contained one traditional Uzbek melon, one backpack contained two Uzbek patir breads, and we also had a small shopping bag with peaches. These were simply traditional foods we were bringing home as gifts for our family. We were told that each passenger could have only one cabin item of any kind. We had to rearrange everything at the counter, combine both melons into one carry-on bag, and pay an additional $48. I understand that every airline has its own baggage policy, and I respect that. However, I was surprised because the melons were already packed inside our carry-on bags, and the bread was inside a backpack—not carried separately. In my personal experience with other airlines, I have never had traditional food items such as fruit or bread handled this strictly. I also felt that the staff could have been more polite and understanding while explaining the policy. The flight itself was comfortable, and our checked luggage arrived safely. I hope Centrum Air improves its punctuality, communicates its cabin baggage policy more clearly before travel, and provides a friendlier customer experience.
