Good Device, Ruined by Broken Software
The Cefaly device itself is genuinely promising. When it works, the stimulation can be effective in easing migraine symptoms. Unfortunately, the experience is undermined by the terrible software. The iOS app feels like an unfinished prototype: it forces constant reconnections, even mid-session, which is the last thing you want during a migraine. Worse, the device doesn’t remember its pairing code -- you have to effectively re-pair it every time you open the app. Basic controls are missing or broken: you can’t adjust intensity from the app, and once you pause a session there’s no way to unpause it. Cefaly has clearly invested in building solid hardware but has under-invested in the software that controls it. The result is a frustrating, broken user experience that diminishes the effectiveness of an otherwise good device. Until they take the app seriously, this product feels half-baked.
