My cat is a fan of the dry food, doesn’t care for the wet or treats. Make sure you order well in advance of running out because the length it takes to ship is terrible. I ordered a week and a half ago and tracking still says usps waiting to receive package. Seriously considering just switching to one of the healthier store brands.
Been using for a few years and shipping times actually seems to be getting worse instead of better. Sad really, because the dry product is good.

Could cause fatal kidney issues
I bought this food on a whim after weeks of trying different foods for my cat when I saw an IG ad for it. My cat loves the taste of it, but a few weeks later a friend of mine came over, saw that I was using Cat Person, and warned me against it. A few years ago her cat died very suddenly of kidney disease. She said he died about 2 months after he started the Cat Person diet. She said it could have been a coincidence, but she wanted to warn me in case. So I started looking into it, and I found a lot of evidence that supports her theory. A lot of cats die from kidney disease, and Cat Person's website itself warns against feeding their food to cats with kidney issues because of the high protein content. And the problem is if your cat DOES have kidney issues, you most likely won't know until it's too late. Sure enough, after feeding my cat half a can a day of this food (which is less than the recommended 1-2 cans) for about two weeks, she started peeing a lot more frequently (a sign of kidney issues) and generally acting strange and perturbed. I switched her back to her old food (which she had stopped eating), Fussie Cat, and she seems to be back to normal spirits.
I also asked the nutrition specialist at my vet about it, and after doing research into the brand, she warned me against a few things: 1. She couldn't find the phosphorus levels in the food, which she found worrying. 2. She said the brand has a co-packer, so she couldn't verify the quality of the ingredients. 3. The brand doesn't have food catered to different life stages (less than 1 year is kitten, 1-7 years is adult, 7+ is senior). Basically, she said it seems like some cat lovers with the best intentions created this brand but failed to do the more scientific research. She recommended the Hills diet plan -- she said she's been to their facilities and seen how much research they do and how well they treat the animals. My vet said the phosphorus levels in Fussie Cat were good but she couldn't verify the manufacturing process, which was worrisome to her. Once I run out of the Fussie Cat food, I'm planning to switch to the Hills diet. I'll probably throw away the Cat Person food, or feed my cat half a can every once in a while so as not to upset her kidneys.
TLDR: This food may literally kill your cat. Be careful.

Hi Dan. Thank you for your thoughtful and detailed review. First and foremost, we're so sorry to hear about your friend's loss - as cat owners ourselves, we know how hard that can be, and we're sending her warm thoughts. We care deeply about ensuring all of our customers have the accurate information they need to make the best decisions for their cats, so I'd love to share more information below.
As you mentioned, we do have a public FAQ page which talks about our diets being unsuitable for cats that have been diagnosed with kidney disease. https://support.catperson.com/en_us/does-your-food-work-for-cats-with-chronic-kidney-disease-S14s2G8v2
More importantly, we spoke with our feline-focused veterinarian regarding renal disease and diet. According to research, there is no protective value to restricting protein prior to the onset of kidney failure, as it is not preventive or helpful for a healthy pet to be restricted in dietary protein. High-protein diets do not cause kidney failure. They can certainly exacerbate illness after kidney disease has been diagnosed or kidney failure has begun, however, high-protein diets do not cause kidney disease. Additionally, according to her professional opinion, protein restriction is probably the least important dietary modification in early stages of kidney disease.
There are special diets available for patients with less restrictive needs and others for patients in more advanced states. While we don't offer those diets at this time, it's definitely something we hope to introduce in the future.
We are sorry to hear that our food wasn't working out for your cat - at the end of the day, we're glad you're choosing what works best for her. All cats are different, and we understand that our food won't be the right food for every single cat.
We'd be happy to provide you or your vet with phosphorous levels in each of our recipes - just send us an email at [email protected]
Additionally, if you'd like more information about our manufacturers and why we choose to work with them, you can check out our FAQ page here: https://support.catperson.com/en_us/where-is-your-food-made-Sys0BL5DL
Lastly, We do have a 30-day satisfaction guarantee, so please reach out to us if you want to send back the food you have on hand for a full refund. We're always here and happy to help.

Not This Time
I love the Cat Person company marketing. I feel their genuineness for the love of cats. They shipped my food quickly. The food was as described. The bottom line is that my cat did not like any it. I got six different flavors. My dog won't even eat the leftover. It was very expensive but I thought I would give it a shot. I'm out $60 for six containers. (Which I could barely afford in the first place). I will use the unused food with my feral cats in the neighborhood.

Really bad shipping time
They always take forever to get delivered with every excuse under the sun, but my cats love the food. This time it’s a bit much, first they gave my package to the wrong carrier then instead of just shipping me a new order, they are looking for my old one. They gave me 10% back for the trouble which goes towards the gas it costs to go to the pet store. Thanks? This is a great product but the shipping is awful.

The food is fine but the shipments take…
The food is fine but the shipments take forever. Usually a week or more from when CatPerson says they've shipped it until it actually hits the mail system, then you still have to wait for delivery. The first 3 months on the service we had to buy emergency food from another supplier. We kept trying to shorten the time, or add more food, but it never comes on time. Pretty annoying.

We're sorry that your shipments have been taking such a long time to deliver! We have a 4-8 business day delivery expectation, but if your packages are consistently arriving outside of that, please email us at [email protected] so that we can take a closer look and help you out!

Great food, terrible company.
I am very disgusted by this company. I pay to get the food in 3/4 days and am still waiting almost ten. They blame it on Covid or trucking or warehouses which is ridiculous. Not sure I will order again. I don’t suggest this company.

We're so sorry to hear that your order was delayed! We do our best to deliver packages within 3-8 business days, but it seems like we missed the mark here with you. We're actively working to improve our fulfillment and ship times, and we appreciate your patience as we better our services!

Cannot deliver timely
I ordered dry cat food a few of times. Every order without fail is delivered incredibly late, 2-3 weeks. The site says 4-8 days which is fraudulent. This last order was on Nov 27 and it's still not here. My cat is out of food. I resorted to store food. I'm done with an incompetent company. Any company who wants to stay in business must get the product to the customer TIMELY!!

Great Food, Terrible Reliability and No Customer Service Whatsoever
We haven't received our (EXPENSIVE) monthly subscription. It's now 3 weeks late. We emailed Cat Person on Tues because they have no phone number to talk to anyone and no customer service. It's Thursday and still no response. We will be cancelling our monthly subscription with Cat Person as we are not paying for goods not received. We can't seem to get a regular supply with the monthly subscription and have to keep running to the store because we are out of food. Took our cat to the vet because he was throwing up. The constant change in food, since we aren't reviewing our monthly order monthly, is hard on their stomach. With no one to talk to and no customer service we are cancelling our subscription.

Hi Tricia! We're so sorry to hear that you had such a hard time receiving your Cat Person order. The last thing we want is for your cat to experience tummy issues due to frequent food switching -- we're really sorry that your sweet kitty had to go through that. I do see that one of our Customer Experience Associates was able to help you out with a replacement order, because it appears this order was lost in transit. We typically try to respond to all inbound messages within 24-48 hours, and although our reply was within that time frame, we apologize that we kept you waiting. We think everything has been taken care of, but if there's anything else we can do to help, we hope you'll let us know. We're always here and happy to step in.
