I was a big fan at first....but when I started ordering in bulk they would send food that was very close to the BBE / best by date.
When I opened those containers the color and smell would be off, I most definitely did not want my fur babies eating any of that.
I had about 10 boxes in a shipment of 25 boxes with that happening.
Please be cautious of your shipments.

Hi Lillian! I'm sorry to hear that some of the items you received have a sooner best-by date than you would've hoped for. A Best-By date indicates when the food is at its highest nutritional value, and when it has the best flavor and taste. This is very different from an expiration date. Cat won’t touch the wet food —
Ok - the wet food must not be all that great I tried the chicken, then the beef I even put some real chicken in it my cat refused to eat it .Maybe it’s cause it’s made in Thailand then shipped all the way to the us then shipped again to the customer in this 90* to 100 degree heat .I’m kind of upset spending all that money .Well I guess I’ll feed the raccoons the rest outback .I’ll continue feeding my cat Feline Natural she loves that this seems to be a good quality cat food . I will how ever continue the dry cat food from Cat person she does eat eat it very well .

I’m paying for packaging not food
I was going to start this plan for 3 cats, but one of mine unexpectedly passed away and it was easy to adjust the order I had set up. My two cats seem to like the food but there are a number issues for me for which I will not be reordering.
1. I live alone and have 2 cats and I do not have the storage space for that huge box with the overly packaged food to arrive monthly.
2. This leads to my second complaint, the packaging is excessive and wasteful. It is beautifully designed, and I understand sending that with the sample box, but afterwards it just becomes a hassle.
3. It would seem to make better sense to offer bigger sized servings of food for households of multiple cats (which I would imagine is the majority). To open multiple small food packages to feed multiple cats seems really wasteful. You’ve already included the covers so if someone didn’t use all of it they can store the rest.
4. The amount of plastic air pouches that came in my large box were ridiculous. They seemed necessary based on the enormous size of the box sent. I think it’s a cute idea to have the boxes be used as toys later, but not if it necessitates tons of extra plastic waste for the design of the box to work.
It is so very convenient to have quality food delivered, a range of flavors and both wet and dry options. I just can’t feel that it’s an adequate trade off for the multiple small boxes, daily plastic containers, and excessive packaging materials. I have a feeling you could provide the food less expensively without all that money going to packaging.

Hi Heather! First and foremost, we're so sorry to hear about your loss. We know how hard it is to lose a cat companion and we're sending you warm thoughts.
We really appreciate the feedback you provided, as it will help us improve our services going forward.
We care a lot about the environment, helping to reduce waste, and reusing/recycling, and so we tried our best to make packaging that was both from recycled materials (our shippers are made from 70% recycled corrugated cardboard) as well as recyclable itself (those same shippers are 100% recyclable, and are designed with eco-friendly water-based inks). As for our food packaging, it's made of #5 plastic, which can recycled as long as you were following your community's guidelines. However, we do hope to move over to aluminum cans in the near future.
The reason why we sell our food in such small portions is to preserve the freshness of the food. That being said, we totally understand that it can be cost prohibitive for customers with more cats, and also that there's lots of packaging involved. I'm going to pass your feedback along to the rest of my team, and my hope is that we can offer a bulk option/bigger portions in the future.
We'd love to work with you to come up with a meal plan that makes sense for you and your cats, and that also optimizes the size of the box itself (to avoid the extra packaging pillows that you're referring to, that keep the products in place during shipment). I'm having the same issues with…
I'm having the same issues with delivery that others on this site are having. My cat really likes the food, but I can't get my deliveries on time. I've tried moving the delivery date up, adding extra food. I just always end up in the same situation. My delivery is stuck in Nevada and I have no idea when it will arrive. My cat is hungry and it bothers her stomach to switch foods.

My cat went on a hunger strike
The experience, the products, and even the playful box were great! But my cat went on a hunger strike at the first bite. He usually LIVES for meal times but after being offered the Cat Person food he went into a state of sadness. He would rather starve, and be devoid of any meaning in his life rather than eat this food. Idk why, cuz it looked great. But if your cat loves store bought mystery meat and is stubborn AF like mine...don't bother.

A Mixed bag-still unsure
I decided to change my rating from 2 stars to 3 stars. I originally gave cat person 2 stars because my cat didn't like their fish wet food and he normally likes fish. Also some of the shreds containers came with a gelatinous blob on top. I decided to change to 3 stars because overall my cat seems to like the wet poultry items. I would like the consistency of the food to be more uniform (ingredients need to be mixed better so no blobs); however, I am thinking about reordering since it is challenging to find good quality cat food less than $1.50 per container.
