I ordered a small blazer for my vacation trip to Trinidad and received a large. As a regular customer I expected to get at least a discount for the inconvenince. Instead I recived a email from Shari informing me to send the item back and that she is unable to compensate me for my inconvience. I am a night worker. It's a reason people shop online. I will not be doing business with them again.

I bought a shirt at Cato. I didn't notice until I got home that the shirt had a really strong chemical odor. . I thought it would wash out but it did not. I washed it a total of 5 times with scent beads. No change. I called the store and was told I could take it back with no receipt because who keeps receipts for clothes they purchase and wash. So I went in there today to try to return the shirt. You know I didn't even care about a refund. They could have just given me store credit. I was mainly taking it back because I thought they should know about it. The two young ladies there were very rude. They asked for the receipt several times. They were also acting like this was not a shirt I purchased at Cato and it obviously was. When I purchased the shirt there were at least 20 others hanging on the rack just like it, so they had to be familiar with the item. That being said i paid $21.99 for the shirt. After i had waited there for about 15 minutes for them to try and located the shirt on clearance so they could refund me the clearance price I just left. The lady I assume was the manager said as I was leaving the store that they could refund me $8. I was on my lunch hour and by this time very frustrated. I just said no thank you. I've been a customer for many years. I will never purchase anyything from CATO again. I should have just put the shirt in the trash instead of trying to bring it to their attention.

Went to the store in Lake City and I was never greeted as a customer. The staff appeared to be shopping the clearance rack with another staff that was getting ready to clock in at 12. I purchase some item and the staff exchanged a thanks. I went back 20 minutes later and returned the items. I can spend my money somewhere else.

Paid for a blouse that my daughter wanted for her birthday with expedited shipping (twice the standard cost) so she would receive it on or before her Bday. I used my credit card to pay for it on April 8th 2026 and now, today is the 10th April 2026. Their website said it would be delivered between 1 to 3 days, heck it's been sitting there IN THEIR WAREHOUSE FOR 2 OF THOSE 3 DAYS APPARENTLY WAITING ON USPS TO ACCEPT THE ORDER. I WILL NEVER ORDER A DAMN THING FROM THESE IDIOTS THAT WORK FOR CATO AGAIN. I HOPE A MILLION PEOPLE (AND WOMEN) READ THIS AND PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS!

I was charged a “pending” charge as soon as they received my order. Then I was charged again with a pending charge when the order was processed for shopping. They state the first charge will be credited back. Beware that you will b charge twice in a pending status. I will not purchase anything else from them. Shady business!

I went in there for a funeral outfit for a two year old that just passed, I was exhausted from crying, I almost didn’t go.. I went in and immediately this lady started in on me, * let me take those to the back for you * …me working in retail for as long as I did knew that she thought I was going to steal. She didn’t do it to any other woman in there who were 50+ getting their holiday specials in. But because I didn’t look like them ( I’m younger and just got off work ) and probably was disheveled..the cherry on the cake was when I went to go try on an outfit..lady looks directly at my badge to see who I was and where I worked * just in case * in a time of grief that was the last thing I needed. Do better for your younger customers

There is a woman that seems to be maybe the manager in Catoes of Hartsville SC. That is the rudest employee I have ever had the displeasure to meet. I was in the store 6 months ago and swore to never go there again. I caved Saturday and went in with my grandaughters. We were treated like scum to say the least. She bullied my blind grandaughter for leaving a hanger on a rack, (which we were buying the item) She looked at us really nasty and said, "THIS is the childrens department" (I had an 8 year old with me, duh). I asked where the tank tops were and she pointed, no assistance at all. These episodes combined with the mean mugging helped me resolve to never try the store again. My girls wanted what they had picked out, so I was stuck making a 77.00 purchase, but it wont happen again. I asked another employee her name and they said it was Mary.

Review is for on-line experience. The site is dishonest. Items are not shipped from North Carolina. They are shipped from China. They will not arrive in 7-10 days. They will never arrive. The customer service is nonsense. They will take your money. You will get no merchandise. Do not fall for this scam.
