We purchased carpet for our master bedroom three years ago. Presently this carpet is coming loose in the seems and has become flat and undesirable looking. We reached out and told for the warranty to cover it, we must have the carpets professionally cleaned every 18 months. Rental shampooers do not count or ones bought. This is ridiculous to me. We don't even wear shoes in our home. This carpet is obviously poor grade and not installed well. Bad customer service and poor product!

Very poor at best.
Very poor customer focus, workmanship and follow up. Wouldn't recommend to even work on your tree house.

When we purchased our flooring
When we purchased our flooring, we were given a $100 coupon for an area rug. We spent 8k on flooring. When we returned to redeem the coupon for an area rug to protect the new flooring, they refused to honor the $100 coupon; they said we needed to purchase an additional $1000 of carpet in order to use the coupon. Instead they offered us 10% off. Unacceptable. Also, they were the ones who measured for the flooring, they apparently measured incorrectly and we ended up with two extra boxes. They refused to take any back unless we paid a restocking fee claiming that since it was a custom order, no returns were allowed without a restocking fee. What a scam! Of course, they are going to order extra for everyone and make some money on the returns. I will never go there again.

Hi Deb and Rob, Offering great products and excellent customer service is a priority of ours, and we are disappointed to hear that your experience was less than stellar. You are correct, the area rug coupon does have a minimum purchase requirement displayed on it, but we would be happy to create a custom discount for you based on the area rug you are considering. Regarding the leftover boxes of flooring - that is not an estimating error. We intentionally order an extra box or two on every project to ensure that our customers have material available for future repairs if needed. This is considered to be an industry standard and a best practice. We recommend that you keep this extra material in storage, you may find that you need it some day. We truly appreciate your business, and would be happy to give you the value of those extra flooring boxes back in the form of store credit towards your area rug purchase. Please give us a call at 518-579-2400 and we will process the credit for you right away. We thank you for supporting our locally owned family business, and we look forward to serving you again.

Not a good experience
Not a good experience. After going to the showroom to pick out tile, we had an estimator show up who told us this was a quick easy job. When the two installers showed up , we were informed half of the ordered tile was junk, and that the estimated cost was incorrect and they left without doing the job and didn't replace the carpet they had rolled back. A fourth employee showed up after many phone calls to the office and suggested we go with the original tile and a cheaper layout. The job was finally completed after an extended time, and now our credit card is being billed more than the amount on our receipt. This has also required phone calls to try to correct this error. We have now filed a dispute through our credit card company.

Carpet order
I ordered my carpet and was not informed ths t it was in back order. The salesman said it would take 3-4 weeks for arrival and installation. The information of back order was available to the salesman, but I believe he did not inform me because, had I known it was going to take 8 weeks, I would not have bought my carpet from Carpet One. I would have left and gone to Home Depot or Loees instead.
At the 4 week mark, I called and was told it was due in that week.. same goes for 5 week mark, 6 week mark and 7 week mark.
I put off all other planned activities and appointments for 5 weeks so I could be available for installation.
Carpet One did not even give me a reduced price for their mistake and my inconvenience.
I chose them because I wanted to give my business to a specialty store instead of a big box store.
Never again.
I completely understand now why Lowe's and Home Depot are so successful. They deliver when individual retailers can't.
I told everyone I know at work and my neighbors to never go to Carpet One.

Hello Tamara,
I am very sorry to hear that you had such a poor experience purchasing from Carpet One. The salesman was correct, 3-4 weeks is our normal turnaround time from order to installation. While backorders are quite normal, even for Home Depot and Lowes, you should have been informed immediately so that you could decide to choose another product or wait. We have a process in place to inform our customers of backorder situations, so you should have received a call from our service department almost immediately after the carpet was ordered. The salesperson would only get involved with a backorder if you had decided to reselect a new carpet. It is obvious to me that we failed to call you when we should have.
Please accept my sincere apologies. We truly value every customer and strive to provide beautiful new floors while making the experience fun and enjoyable. We clearly fell short of this goal on your project. As I mentioned before, Home Depot and Lowes also have backorders. However, customers like you purchase from Carpet One because they expect professional treatment and stellar service, especially in the event of a manufacturing delay. At Carpet One, you are dealing with flooring experts and a local store owner that cares about each project. As the owner and general manager of this business, I can assure you that I take your feedback very seriously, and that I will be correcting the cause of this error. Also, I agree with you completely, and feel that a significant discount is in order. Please feel free to call me on my cell at 518-857-8884, and allow me to apologize in person, as well as arrange for your discount/credit.
I sincerely hope that you are happy with the new carpet now that it is installed. Rest assured that you have a lifetime installation warranty, and that we stand behind the quality of the product and installation. If given the opportunity, I would love to speak with you and gain your trust back. Thank you for taking the time to post this review, and thank you for your business.
Regards,
Christopher Taylor
