My experience with CareCredit is that I…
My experience with CareCredit is that I applied on the computer. The question asked was for my phone number. Since I have hearing problems I checked the box that told them that I have hearing problems and I cannot communicate with them by phone and do not have a Mobile phone number. I was told that my application was pending and I would have to call. I called at the dentist the next day. They had everything that they needed to do a credit check. My credit is good. I just wanted to spread out the payments. They wanted me to send them a video of me and a scanned driver's license. All because I only have a home phone and not a mobile? They were very rude while all this occurred. They also leave you on hold indefinitely. Since I am getting help with this from the dentist and taking up their time, I just hung up and quit with Carecredit. I am not going to give them a video of me or my license like they wanted. This is overkill and absurd. I simply have hearing problems and only have a regular phone. That is discrimination against a person with a disability. My credit is good. Carecredit lost a good customer because they insisted that I have a cell phone number to be accepted. From reading these reviews I am glad that I did not use Carecredit.

Deceptive scammers
Deceptive, do not use! I have had Care Credit for 15 years; they used to be good but recently have become a scam. When you make a payment, instead of applying it to the promotion that is expiring the soonest, they spread it out over future balances. This causes you to miss the due date, so they can charge you all the deferred interest. Tip: contact them and they must apply it to the promotional purchase expiring soonest, but it is a pain having to do this all the time. Will be shopping around for a new card.

No customer service no help
I went to use my card at Kaiser yesterday who accepts CareCredit, and the card was declined even though I paid off my $7300 balance months ago! I spent 4 hours with CareCredit chat, and after filling their verification forms multiple times the couldn’t access my account even though I was on their App. So this card doesn’t work and customer support doesn’t help. Except for scam clinics? Not a legitimate medical center at least!

Beware of Their Rebates
If you participate in one of their rebate offers, make sure you follow up because they will send a single rebate offer email that ends up in spam and if you miss the window to press "reply" then they refuse to honor your already approved rebate application. Having a double opt in (as requiring rebate applicants who already submitted the rebate to do a second application within a time window or loose out), is deceptive and in my opinion dishonest business practices.

Awful + Ridiculous
Honestly, CareCredit's policy for maintaining your account — which I just learned about today — is awful and ridiculous. Not to mention, deceitful. Apparently, they'll close your account without warning if your credit fluctuates, regardless of whether or not your account is in good standing. They're also not upfront about this stipulation upon applying for a line of credit, so like most people, I assumed they function just like a regular credit card company.
I opened my account last year (2022) for emergencies — specifically for pet emergencies. I used it once, paid off the balance without an issue, and hadn't used it since because like I said, it was meant for emergencies. Therefore, it was in good standing.
However, I found out just this morning that the account had been closed thanks to the alerts I receive through Credit Karma (not even Care Credit — I had to find out through a third party). Not only was it painfully difficult to speak with an actual human on the phone (pretty sure they make it next to impossible on purpose), but there was "nothing that could be done" and they honestly don't even pretend to care.
The reason for closing my account was that my credit score had dropped below a certain threshold — this was only due to falling behind on my student loans because I had to move recently and therefore come up with the moving costs, but I have since been able to catch up with my student loans, but credit reports move significantly slower than bank transactions, unfortunately. All of my other credit cards are in good standing too. Utilization is over 30%, however, they're on autopay — which means no late payments ever. My credit score isn't even bad, it's considered fair, and within the next few months, it'll be back up to good/excellent.
What's worse is that a credit company should know that your credit score/report takes a hit whenever you 1). Apply for a line of credit 2). When an account is closed. So, the company is punishing its borrowers for having fluctuating credit while also causing their credit scores to fluctuate. it makes zero sense and I am beyond pissed solely for that reason.
Honestly, I was planning on getting pet insurance anyway, but I'd prefer to have something for emergencies. Apparently, Care Credit is not it and unless they willingly correct this bullsh*t and reopen my account on their own, I won't ever be applying for credit with them again.
I wouldn't recommend or suggest that anyone bother with Care Credit, it's just not worth it and according to the rest of these reviews, other people have had it way worse than me.

Care Credit Is A Rip Off
Care Credit is a rip off. To begin with I was never told by them or the business that assigned me to them that it was a promotional. They knew that I was handicap and on Social Security. I didn't even know about it being promotional until they charged a ridiculous high interest rate when I was only $1,823.34 away from being paid off, they raised the interest to a total cost of $2,887.88. I always paid more than min. balance. When I address the issue to Cherry or Sherry on the phone she didn't even send for the supervisor or manager. Instead she told me that if I paid off the total amount of $1,823.34 within 1 month only then would they remove the interest fee. They knew that was impossible. They did not care to work it out with me.

The worst for customer service
called to verify my card in my mobile wallet because I received an email from CareCredit to do this and get additional rewards points. I was on the phone for a half an hour and gave up -this card is by far the worst for customer service!
