Horrible rip off! I have paid a lot of money to this service and have only gotten mediocre candidates. The last person we hired ripped us off and is currently being prosecuted by the DAs office. When I contacted Care.com - guess what? They could Care.less. I wasn't even looking for anything. Also, there is virtually NO WAY TO TALK WITH SOMEONE if you have an issue. Save your money - go to gyms, high schools, colleges find people you know. This is from a mother who has needed care for 12 years... Good luck! NOTE from response that there is still an "emai" where you can send response, no live personal contact. Don't waste your money.

I tried to use this site to find some help with house cleaning. Everything seemed fine until I got applicants for my listing. To message any of them, I have to pay $40 upfront for one month or $13 a month for a year! I don’t even know if I will find anyone yet! I spent a good amount of time registering and wording the ad. They should take a lesson from Rover . Com. They do not charge until you book a service. Then they charge a little on both ends; the client and the pet sitter. At least it seems more fair that way. I will not sign up and pay that much money before even knowing that I will find a decent person.

I was not even able to use the service ,yet they charged my card anyway. I only had the account signed up for ONE hour before I was actually able to get someone outside of the website to do some work for me. They have the worst customer service imaginable and I will NEVER recommend the site. I am actually considering suing them.

I have not used this service so don't count my rating of 3 stars. Would anyone be interested in a similar service? I was thinking about my mum being a carer and how agencies paid her poorly and thought of this idea. But when searching online, I found care.com. Therefore, I thought no point because a well-funded organisation has already done it. But then I searched reviews and came across all these negative reviews. It will not charge people looking for carers, however, it would have to charge carers a small fee for finding them work. Therefore, receiving the pay they deserve while also keeping costs down for families and removing greedy agencies. The platform itself would include a website similar to care.com plus integrated mobile apps for task management and communication between carers and family members. probably quite basic to start with and advance with technology over time. Such as smart contracts, opt-in, opt-out gps locator to get peace of mind and check the time carers where travelling and at your family members home. Automatically sorting any time disputes and pay. Without the need for a third party etc. I have just created a quick fb page you can search if interested called: Carers Solution UK. It's just an idea and would love to get some feedback or even advice before throwing myself into it. I am more tech orientated and noticed the problem through my mum working as a carer. I used to be a binman and was earning almost double her wage so either the government thinks removing rubbish is more valuable than the elderly or agencies are taking a big cut! Either way, there seems to be a problem! and care.com is not the answer reading through these reviews.

Op zoek naar een huishoudelijke hulp kwam ik bij care.com terecht. 35€ betaald voor een lidmaatschap van een maand, inmiddels een hulp gevonden. Ik wil mijn contract opzeggen. Helaas krijg ik geen contact met care.com (telnummer staat niet op de site) via contactformulier en e-mail geen reactie (nu al 5 dagen niet) ze geven aan proberen binnen 24 uur te reageren. Ik wil graag opzeggen!! Zodat ik niet automatisch blijf doorbetalen...

I've used care.com for a few years...but after hearing how they treated my cousin, I can now say that I will NEVER use it or recommend it to anyone ever again. My cousin is AMAZING with kids. She's extremely kind, patient, and loyal to the families she works for...so it came as a shock when she told me about what happened with the last family she found through this site. Unfortunately, one of the children falsly accused her of hitting him. He told his mom, and she believed him. She then fired my cousin and told care.com that she hit the child. Care blocked her from the site permanently and emailed all of the previous families she worked for that she was blocked from the site because of misconduct. She had to contact all of the families and tell them she was unfairly and falsly accused... naturally they all believed her because they know her character and know that she is one of if not THE most trustworthy person. To make matters worse, care.com didn't even take both sides of the story. They just automatically believed the lying child and his gullible mother. DO NOT use this site if you want to be treated fairly. Such a serious accusation could ruin a person's life. Extremely disgusted with how they handled the situation.

Clicked on a cleaning job vacancy through well known job website. Followed the application process then a subscription page comes up saying I have to subscribe to apply for jobs. There are many reasons why people look for jobs but main reason is to earn money as don't have any it much, so why are you asking vulnerable ppl to subscribe to apply for jobs!!

UK - 12.0.18 spent a while filling in the info required and drafting an email to the chosen cleaner who appeared to live near my address...pressed send and was then confronted with a subscription page! No sign of any charges at all until that page - rip off. Back to looking at ads in shop windows like everyone else
