I contacted care.com on the day that they "renewed" my quarterly subscription that I had not used and had no intention to use. As I was contacting them on the day of the beginning of the quarter I requested a refund for the entire qtr. I was refused a refund, despite not having used the service, and contacting them at the beginning of the term. The unethical practice of that Care.com employs in charging people's accounts with no recourse is ridiculous, especially when their service is a joke.

Terrible. I was a victim of a scam.

I’ve been a customer of care.com since 2012. I’ve used this platform for many years and have upheld nothing but the utmost professionalism. Although I’ve had my fair share of encounters with different families I’ve never had to report another member/family until last week. A new member had reached out for immediate care needs in which I thought I’d might help out in anyway I could. I informed the parent that I work all week but that my mother and I do nanny shares with other families and that she might be available for some temporary care. I sent over our contact info and right away this parent was in direct contact with both of us. We went over terms, dates needed and went over the needs of the children. My mother worked three days accumulated over 24 hours. This member refused to pay my mother for nanny services. Which my mother is also on care.com and is a long time member. After several failed attempts to collect pay I chose to reach out to care.com. I informed them of the situation and that there was another care giver that was there all three days with my mom that had also not been payed for over 3 weeks. Care.com ingnored my reports. Finally they called to go over what the situation which I had high hopes that this unprofessional, blatant attempt of abuse and theft would be resolved by the care.com team instead Care.com terminated my 9 year profile and sent out emails to all those I have worked for over my 9 years that I was terminated and warned these families I worked for to limit contact with me. Care.com has refused to investigate the situation properly by allowing this member to continue taking advantage of hard working caregivers. I had offered plenty of evidence to validate my complaint in which Care.com had not utilized. I would not recommend using this site.

The companies business model is to sign you up for a subscription which you are not made aware will be renewable. By the time you realize its renewable, they have charged your card and will not give you a refund. It's an awful business model.
