In this case, just the peace of mind of having a support system available when abroad and difficulty to negotiate with rental car companies is complicated. It's always a very tense situation when things don't go as planned, but with the card and particularly the ability to make a claim it's reassuring. I had an incredibly easy time submitting my claim and receiving my compensation. The instructions were very detailed, the timeline was clearly outlined, and the descriptions of necessary uploads were really helpful. The whole process was much faster and easier than I expected.

Had a trip delay due to weather and I knew I had trip delay reimbursement so I kept receipts and took photos for good measure. Uploaded all the needed documents and submitted and within a week received a call confirming some details and then received the reimbursement I requested.

I had a very good experience processing my claim for reimbursement of a flight cancellation penalty through Chase Sapphire. We had scheduled a golf trip to Scotland about a year ago and booked our flights a number of months ago. My wife ended up having an injury that will require shoulder surgery and she will not be able to play golf for a number of months. As a result we had to cancel our trip. When we cancelled our airline tickets there was a penalty to cancel. I submitted a claim with an invoice showing the cancellation penalty and provided a Physician Statement that she could play golf for an extended period of time. I worked with a specialist on the initial submission and we received full payment of the cancellation penalty within 120 days. Process was smooth and efficient. I would recommend contacting a specialist when filling out the initial form, it makes the whole process much more efficient and understandable. She was a terrific help. The successful claim more than paid the annual fee for my Sapphire card.

Claim processing took some time, but I wouldn't call it excessive. The documentation demands were a little more than, I think, was necessary. Once everything was provided, the decision took another week, and resolved to my satisfaction.
