We are a growing nonprofit with an ever expanding collection of assets. We use Canto across three branches and multiple users with wide ranging tech abilities. It was easy to implement, took little training for end users, and Canto is always improving their service.

Canto has already helped us manage our most valuable asset; our time. Our Digital Marketing Department is now prepared for the rapid growth of our organization. Canto has an excellent set of features that help us manage our brand a little bit closer. The beautifully laid out portals are great for our other locations to be able to download without having to email us directly. The status controls help us make sure the right assets are available without the worry of assets getting in the wrong hands. Finally, Canto has a great team of support. They're always available to answer questions and resolve any issues quickly. The only downfallI have found is a need to make certain things within a portal viewable and not downloadable, but that is not offered at this time.

We use Canto Photo Library and I am impresses by it' ease of use and ability to tag photos and add metadata. The only thing I would change is that people using the same upload link can see other peoples submissions. Other than that an excellent product.

How easy it is to navigate and organize our files, and it keeps their original image quality.

It has streamlined so many processes. Everyone on our team now knows exactly where everything lives and can access it themselves. Before we just had a dropbox account that everyone accessed under the same generic login. There was no accountability of oversight. Now were are able to track any changes that are made, easily collaborate, and get what we need, when we need it.

My favorite thing about Canto is it's ease of use. It reminds me of iTunes a bit, there are several ways to search for assets which make it very easy for users to locate assets. I come from a background of keywords and tags and appreciate the way it is laid out in Canto and as an administrator I also love the reporting aspect, specifically the metadata activity metrics. Another huge plus is the external connections you can link to upload from Dropbox and Google Drive. Finally their implementation team and account support is top notch. They followed through with anything we asked of them and made sure we were well trained and ready to train others. We continue to have monthly meetings with them and I learn something new every time that makes me more impressed with Canto. I highly recommend! I really don't have a whole lot to complain about. I would just recommend that before your team is ready to upload from an external connection into Canto, make sure you do some up front work in your existing file structure. It makes the upload much easier, it's hard to change the file structure once assets are uploaded into Canto but there are workarounds. Canto's DAM has helped us get our assets into a central and easily accessible location. No more worrying about what happens if a hard drive is lost!

Interface is very intuitive. There is a really good balance between having a turnkey solution and beling able to customize things. Custom tags and multiple ways of tagging assets was my biggest priority. There were a few solutions that provided more customization, but would've required more oversight as well. Our small team didn't have the bandwidth for that. Ability to create portals and upload links has been a gamechanger for us in asset distribution and collection. Just hosted a large community fundraiser. We gave each photographer an upload link with the option of some quick tags. We had thousands of images tagged and uploaded into the platform effortlessly. This used to be very time consuming for us. Facial recognition is pretty weak. They are the larger customer of AWS facial recognition tool. If Canto switched to Google's tool, I feel it'd be much more reliable and function the way it's intended to. As of now, we just opt not to use it. Support could do a better job at recognizing the shortcomings of their product and recommending product enhancements. I often have to request multiple times for something to be an enhancement. I haven't had any follow-up yet, so not sure if they're going to implement things though. We originally used personal hard drives and shared network drives for our asset management. Working with vendors for graphics was done via email. We've been able to transfer most of that over to Canto now. A week after launching Canto, HR came to use looking for photos of colleagues. Previously this would've taken hours to find what they were after. However, the AI Smart Tagging made it very easy to do a search for "people", then we added a couple of filters. Within minutes we had hundreds of photos that we sent to HR.
