Beware the online sizing tool.
Beware the online sizing tool. I would like to rate this more highly because really the puffer is very well made. However, sizing is problematic. We had a size 16 - too small. Then a 20, again using the website measurements - too big. Surely size 18 would be the goldilocks size. Nope. I think it's like how clothes are made for plus-sized individuals. They think that everything is in proportion, that if the person weighs 200 pounds, their arms are likely 2 yards long. But they are not. We have a mixed breed dog that has is rather broad chest, but long, narrow neck (Mookie is adorable and looks like a largish rat terrier). If the finance people had sprung for 2x the length of velcro, the size 18 would have fit perfectly. Instead, I can put three fingers or more between the neckline even having shortened the front of the coat a bit. I'm not going to bother sending it back because it's winter and Mookie needs a coat, but I am disappointed because, really, it's quite well-made. Just not for any dog that does not have a linebacker's neck
