Marketing, not medical care

With the first provider that I was assigned to it seemed like our communication was very disconnected. I got the sense that I was prescribed the medications based on what they give a standard patient instead of based on my specific circumstances. Therefore for the first four or five weeks I was having a lot of very negative experiences which were being dismissed by the provider. After doing some research and also talking with friends who were using HRT prescribed by their doctors I made some adjustments to my dosages and began to feel better finally. After leaving negative reviews with Winona based on the service I had received to that point they eventually switched me to one of their senior providers. They made the appropriate apologies and promises for better service going forward, but again it felt like I was being marketed to instead of provided medical care. I ended up finding a local provider who was covered by my insurance and I've been working with them for the past 4 to 5 months and I'm doing much better. I would not recommend using Winona.

Every patient's assigned Winona physician is available via secure messaging 24/7 through the Patient Portal to address any questions, side effects, or adjustments you may need. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) works best when taken consistently over time. It can take 10 to 12 weeks to start seeing significant changes, and within three months, about 80% of women experience complete relief from their symptoms. Because everybody responds differently, some women require dosage adjustments before finding their ideal balance. If patients feel that a different doctor would better their care, we offer to transition them to a new doctor.
