Ineffective Products & Poor Customer Service
I was prescribed estrogen patches and progesterone pills, and paid almost $200/month. I don't know what brand the patches were, but they were completely ineffective for me and when I went to cancel the next batch (so I did not waste money) I was told I was too late as it was just outside of the 24 hour window. The website is not user friendly in terms of trying to cancel your subscription, and even after requesting to exercise my right to privacy they repeatedly refused to delete my private information from my account despite the fact that I recently received a GoogleAlert that my information from Winona (among others) was found on the Dark Web. I am not personally convinced that I was given actual estrogen patches but am now out almost $400. But the worst part has dealing with their "customer service :)", which is a nightmare. Update: Do NOT waste your money on Winona; the customer service is just awful. I have repeatedly asked (via email) for the mailing address of the corporate headquarters so that I can file a complaint with the proper agencies/authorities and they refuse to provide it--but I already found it online. Also, they refuse to delete the selfie photo and copy of my Driver's License they have on file, allegedly that they are legally required to do so as part of maintaining my "medical record". However, again, despite *repeated* requests (via email) to cite the specific law which states that they must do this, they refuse to answer. Do NOT give them your selfie and/or copy of your ID; now I am worried that they have fed it into AI and/or have it on a poorly secured server that is vulnerable to cyberattacks. I also DID provide them, multiple times, with my email and phone number but again--they refuse to acknowledge this. Don't make my mistakes; find another telehealth company for your HRT and don't get stuck in the same situation I am!

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback, Kim. We’re very sorry to hear that you’ve been dissatisfied with your treatment results and frustrated by your experience with cancellation, customer service, and privacy concerns. We understand how concerning it can be to invest in treatment and not experience the improvement you were hoping for. We also want to clarify that our estrogen patches are not placebos. We take the efficacy, quality, and integrity of the products we provide very seriously, and our medications are prescribed and dispensed as part of an individualized treatment plan. Regarding your request to have your medical information deleted, if you’ve been accepted as a patient and a doctor-patient relationship has been established, we are responsible for maintaining medical records for at least seven years. Because of these legal and medical record keeping requirements, we cannot simply delete those records upon request. We also want to reassure you that we do not sell or share your personal or medical information with anyone outside of Winona. We take patient privacy and confidentiality very seriously. We understand that receiving an alert regarding information allegedly appearing on the Dark Web can be understandably alarming, and we would be happy to review your specific concerns with you directly. Because you have not provided identifying information with your review, we’re unable to locate your account or contact you directly. If you would like us to look into your concerns regarding your treatment, cancellation, billing, or privacy, please reach out to our Patient Care Team through your Winona account so we can assist you further. Thank you again for bringing these concerns to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to address them and better understand your experience.
