Apple is a better deal
I don't use a laptop much so I decided to sell my Macbook Air and use the proceeds to buy an iPad. I sent my Air to Buyback and it's condition was downgraded more than I thought reasonable. As I would learn from a very unhappy Service Rep, voicing an opinion that was not what he wanted was not acceptable. Even though I agreed to the reduced price, the Rep was so angry that he shipped my Air back. Good news is Apple paid me significantly more and now I own a new iPad.

Hi Bill, I’m sorry things didn’t go as smoothly as you’d hoped. I wanted to explain why your MacBook Air didn’t meet the "Like New" condition. To qualify, the device needs to look and function like it just came out of the box—no scratches, no dirt, no smells (like cigarette smoke), and no refurbished parts. During our evaluation, we found marks, dirt, had been refurbished, and a strong odor of cigarette smoke. It was requoted to the next condition. I attached your pictures below. While we tried to contact you via phone call, you were not willing to communicate to our staff. In the end, we returned your MacBook Air to you at no charge to close the matter. As a company, we need to ensure that every device we purchase meets the expectations of the next customer. When a device doesn’t meet the advertised condition, it impacts our ability to resell it. It’s also important to note that we provide cash payments, unlike Apple, which only offers store credit. https://d18hvo5uozp8li.cloudfront.net/public/images/order-pictures/1f5b9a_1435/202503041335X4Cl6.jpeg https://d18hvo5uozp8li.cloudfront.net/public/images/order-pictures/1f5b9a_1435/202503041335Dqedy.jpeg https://d18hvo5uozp8li.cloudfront.net/public/images/order-pictures/1f5b9a_1435/202503031000afdbn.jpeg
