Great installation love the chair

We had to have the chair serviced 2 days following instillation and again 2 days later. Finally got the issues resolved.

WELL, FIRST I WAS NOT TOLD THAT MY STAIRLIFT SEAT WOULD BE HIGHER FROM THE FLOOR (ABOUT 2 AND 1/2 INCHES HIGHER FROM THE FLOOR BECAUSE I ORDERED THE AUTOMAC SEAT. THE AUTOMATIC SEAT BOX MAKE THE STAIRLIFT HARDER TO SIT IN FOR 5 FT. 8 IN PEOPLE LIKE ME. WE HAVE TO STRUGLE TO SIT WITH OUR BACK TO THE BACK OF THE SEAT, WHICH IS NECESSARY FOR OUR LEGS (KNEES) TO CLEAR THE STAIR RAILLING ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE STAIRWELL. THE CONTROL BOX SHOULD NOT BE MORE THAN ONE INCH THICK. THAT WOULD GIVE US THE 2 INCHES WE NEED, SO WE WON'T HAVE TO STRUGLE TO GET IN THE CHAIR. SECONDLY, THE MANUFACTER SHOULD NOT OMITT THE BUTTOM USED ON MANUAL CHAIRS. THE BOTTON SHOULD REMAIN ON THE STAIRLIFT CHAIR SO THAT WHEN THE AUTOMATIC FEATURE STOP WOKING, YOU WILL STILL BE ABLE TO GET THE CURVED STAIRLIFT TO TURN FOR THE STEPS, MAKING ONE ABLE GET OUT OFTHE CHAIR. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO BE TOTALLY DEPENDENT OF THE AUTOMATIC TURNING FEATURE ALONE. WE STILL NEED THE MANUL SWITCH/ BOTTOM AS A BACK UP. ASK YOURSELF, HOW WILL WE GET OUT OF THE CHAIR IF WE ARE AT HOME ALONE AND THE AUTOMATIC FEATURE DOSE NOT WORK. PLEASE UPDATE MY STARLIFT WHEN THESE IMPROVEMENT ARE MADE.

we bought it to get my wife (whose confined to a wheelchair) to the basement in case of major storms. We have not had a serious storm yet. When our great grandchildren visit we let them ride it once each visit. They love it.
