My dad loves his chair lift. He had one in his home, but recently he moved in with me and he has problems with the steps. The stairlift allows my dad to avoid the steps. The person who installed it was very nice, answered all our questions, he removed the existing lift and installed it in my house. He also installed a second left. Great service as well.

The Bruno Elan is terrific!
In not quite two months, the Bruno Elan stairlift installed by Home Medical Equipment of Garden City, New York (Long Island) has dramatically improved my 97-year-old mother's ability to have access to her upstairs (including the only TV with cable!), and she repeatedly expresses her joy at how easily she now goes up and down, instead of inching her way along on arthritic knees, pulling on the banister. With the help of a couple of Drive grab bars on the top and bottom landings, she gets into and out of the stairlift with no trouble, and quickly mastered fastening the seat belt, using the switch to move up and down the stairs, and using the lever on either side and just below the seat to swivel it at the top of the stairs so she can get off. She's very short but can reach the footrest, and the seat's very comfortable. She smiles and sometimes waves to me as she takes her ride--which she does many nights after dinner and sometimes after lunch too. (We joke about installing a coin box, it's such a fun ride--as long as she has a key to retrieve the money!) As she has acknowledged numerous times, this stairlift has changed her life. If you live anywhere in Queens, Brooklyn, or Long Island, try Home Medical Equipment: the people at the office were extremely helpful; there's a three-step working model, which my mother tried out, convincing her she'd be happy getting it; and it was installed quickly (a couple of hours) and very competently. And we were assured that when the time comes to remove it, the company will do so and pay us--far different from Acorn, whose representative said that company won't remove their stairlifts. Incidentally, if you have long-term-care insurance, it's worth inquiring whether you can get reimbursed for the stairlift. That helps enormously. But even without that, this is essential equipment for my mother, and the Bruno Elan is every bit as good as I'd hoped. (By the way, this may sound too good to be true, but I have no connection to either Bruno or HME.)

The stairlifter was a great solution to making two stories seem like one. It is very safe and very sturdy. If you need a stairlifter and want the best, Bruno is where you go. Excellent quality and reasonable price.
