The chairlift is nearly perfect for our needs. We opted for the curved rather than 2 straight, as my husband is partial paraplegic, 6'3" and would have trouble doing a sliding transfer on our landing. He can transfer at bottom with a stand assist and top to a wheelchair almost seamlessly. At the bottom, we use the stand assist to sit him down and stand up, and just have to turn off the circuit breaker behind the seat to prevent inadvertent triggering of the up button on the armrest by his shoulder when he gets off. We have the seat positioned at max height, due to his leg length, and use a 4" foam in the wheelchair at top to level the transfer surface. The footrest is small and tucked under a bit for him, but he can prop feet on it. This lift had the largest dimensions without going full custom, so we are very happy with it. Our local vendor has been great in working with us.
