We already have an Elan unit to go to the upper floor. We had another installed to the basement. Wonderful product. The new unit has a different seat belt arrangement - much like one in a car. The old one has the belt attached to the arms. The user in this case has a partially functional left arm and hand. The belt pulls out on the right and slots into a receptacle on the left. She cannot reach the receptacle with her right hand too far back and low. My solution will be to switch the belt reel and receptacle to the other side.

The lift is obviously of high quality
The lift is obviously of high quality, but I've encountered a "user" problem that was not taken into consideration when I described the need for this lift. Specifically, my wife is unable to stand up, stand, or walk unassisted and the physical design of the lift resulted in the chair seat to elevated 1 1/2 steps from the first floor. THAT has made getting her into the seat extremely difficult for her and me.

Installation was fast and…
Installation was fast and uncomplicated. I love the unit. It will be a big help getting items in and out of my basement workshop without undue falls.

Bruno Elite Stairlift
My wife and I decided we needed to find something that would assist us with going up and down the stairs in our home which goes from the main floor down to a basement garage. She has problems with her feet and I have issues with my knees. Going up and down the steps was beginning to be difficult for us especially when we went shopping and had to bring groceries into the house. We discussed a circle drive up to the front door of our house, but found that it was going to be very expensive. Plus, we would be getting in and out of the vehicle and unloading groceries out in the weather. One of us would still have to take the vehicle down to the garage and come up the stairs. After doing some research on options, we decided that a stairlift would be a good solution.
I did a lot of research on the internet and came to the conclusion that the Bruno brand stairlifts were usually considered to be the best. Well built, good quality, one of the best warranties, and designed and manufactured in the USA!
I contacted a couple of Bruno dealers that cover our rural area to give us a quote for a stairlift to fit our needs. Of the two I contacted, one of them promptly sent a salesman/technician out to review, measure, and give us a quote on the spot. The other one asked me to take photos and measurements myself and send them to the dealer. The communication back and forth was prompt but I felt like it was too impersonal and their prices were also higher.
We chose to purchase our stairlift from Next Day Access in Bartlett, TN. We decided on the Bruno Elite with a powered wider footrest, and the power rotating seat. Since we wanted the additional options, our stairlift had to be ordered, which delayed the installation.
We ordered our Bruno Elite on Jan 26 and it was installed on Feb 25. The installation went well. The technician did an excellent job installing the stairlift and explaining / demonstrating how to use it. We are very pleased with our Bruno Elite stairlift and our experience with Next Day Access. The stairlift appears to be very well engineered and is made of quality materials. It is smooth operating. It is a very good economical option for helping us address our issue with going up and down the stairs.
We do however have an issue with the Bruno Elite. After about two weeks of trouble free operation the power rotating seat would only rotate about 25 to 30 degrees and stop. This made it very difficult to enter and exit the seat at the top of the stairs. I contacted Next Day Access and they got a technician out the following business day. He found that one of the three pins in the power seat mechanism had moved up out of position and was hitting the bottom frame of the seat thus keeping it from turning all the way. He pushed the pin into place and cycled the seat several times to insure the pin would stay in place...issue fixed!
Not so fast...approximately one week later the seat jammed again and would not rotate all the way around. I contacted Next Day Access again and the tech was sent out. It was three days before they could get a tech out this time. He found that the same thing had happened. The same pin had again worked its way up and was hitting the seat frame. He again pushed the pin back into place but this time did a bit of rigging and used a piece of wire to help hold the pin down. He is going to contact Bruno technicians to discuss the issue and see what they recommend be done as a permanent fix for this issue.
I anticipate that the issue will be taken care of promptly and hopefully we will get many years of service from our Bruno Elite stairlift. The build quality of the stairlift and the reputation of Bruno tells me that this is just a "hiccup" and the issue will be resolved.

Bruno chairlifts
Rick Peterson, owner of Grace in Motion, was knowledgeable, direct concerned and accommodating. The chair lift design and operation appeared sound and comprehensive (I am an engineer).
In the last year we have purchased three Bruno chairlifts; they have been fine for the most part (two in our Arlington home and one in our second home). One of them is a bit slow in starting up its staircase.

Very happy with the product
Very happy with the product, the dealer and the installation. If I had any suggestion to improve the product it would be to make it a bit quieter. Otherwise I’m extremely happy.

The stair lift is well made and folds…
The stair lift is well made and folds up nicely when not in use. It runs a little slow, and I'm sure that is for safety reasons.
