Cautionary Experience with Broadway…
Cautionary Experience with Broadway Ragdolls (Claire Michaels) Sharing my direct experience to inform prospective buyers regarding Broadway Ragdolls' alleged health guarantee and customer service: Arrived Sick: My kitten was delivered at an underweight 2 lbs, severely lethargic, and suffering from acute diarrhea. Diagnosed with Giardia: Immediate veterinary workups confirmed an active Giardia parasite infection, despite claims that kittens receive full fecal testing and medical clearance prior to release. Ignored & Blocked: For over 3 months, Claire Michaels refused to reimburse the extensive veterinary bills and prescription diets required to clear the parasite and stabilize his digestive system. Communication Cut Off: After requesting reimbursement for documented medical costs, the breeder ceased all response and blocked me on social media. Buyer Advice: Request independent lab results directly from a licensed veterinarian and explicit written terms regarding medical cost coverage before purchasing or taking delivery. ***RESPONSE to Broadway Ragdolls Cattery LLC: I am posting this reply to using documented facts: 3 Months of Unresolved Documentation: This issue has been ongoing for over 3 months. Claire has received all of my kitten's complete veterinary records, diagnostic tests, progress notes, and itemized bills via text, email, and Facebook Messenger. Immediate Medical Care & NYS Law: I took my kitten to a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of pick-up due to severe symptoms—despite Claire repeatedly emphasizing that I should not take him to a vet for the first 14 days. New York State Pet Lemon Law (NYS GBL § 753) exists specifically to protect buyers from pre-existing conditions and parasites. Private cattery terms cannot override state consumer protection laws. Unfulfilled 2-Year Health Guarantee: The cattery advertises a 2-year health guarantee, yet when presented with immediate, documented medical proof of an active Giardia infection present at pick-up, reimbursement for necessary veterinary treatments was ignored, and I was subsequently blocked. Lack of Veterinary Clearance: When I personally contacted the cattery’s listed veterinarian, they could not confirm that the kitten had received medical clearance or full parasite testing prior to release. Additionally, my kitten was neutered at just 3 months old while weighing a severely underweight 2 lbs and actively sick. Focus on Recovery: I have done everything in my power—following strict veterinary protocols and treatments—to help my kitten heal and get healthy. I am not requesting a full refund for the cat; I am seeking reimbursement for the veterinary expenses incurred to treat the illness he arrived with. I have preserved all emails, veterinary records, and communication records, and I will be pursuing this matter further through official state channels. Prospective buyers deserve complete transparency regarding post-sale accountability.
Response from Broadway Ragdolls Cattery LLCSep 8, 2026
This customer did not comply with transitional protocols and did not communicate with me like all my clients do immediately after take home to ensure that they have a wonderful experience. I was not able to confirm if the food, supplements, and take home care plan was followed. I tried many times to have a phone conversation, left text messages, multiple requests to speak with her vet and she refused. All of our kittens are vet certified immediately prior to take home. We would never sell a sick kitten. To date the client has not allowed me to confirm her expenses with her vet nor assist her in any way with the care of her kitten and still refuses to communicate with me except to continually ask for the full price of her kitten back while keeping possession of the kitty. All my clients know that I will do everything possible to support them and their babies before, during, and after purchase.
