I took out a loan with this company back in October of 2015 and initially the customer service was good until the loan got approved. Then the sales rep tone changes and I was hit with the realization that what I read online was untrue about the amount of interest to be paid back. I voiced my opinion to the sales rep and he brushed it off and said if you pay back the loan early you could avoid some of the interest. Since my intent was to pay it back within a few month after getting some large payments expected in the beginning of the year, I went ahead and started making the payments. Unfortunately I became a victim of a horrible crime on Christmas Eve which caused facial damages and me to be unable to meet clients. I was not able to collect the money expected and I lost a lot of business. With my income on hold and daily payments coming out of my account, I was forced to freeze my own bank account to stop all the overdrafts from occurring which caused problems with other creditors as well. I also had memory problems from being hit in the head and misplaced checks from the account which I was afraid got into the wrong hands. When I contacted Forwardline and tried to explain that I was having financial difficulties and needed to work out another arrangement until things got better, they immediately got rude and would not work with me. They said I was committing fraud if I didn't give them another bank account to continue taking money on a daily basis that was not there. I explained that I was going to have to setup another bank account because of the problems with the old account and needed to switch my payments to weekly or come up with another solution until I could get back on tract since I had now lost several of my larger clients by not attending the year end meetings. I had every intention of paying them back but was just in a bind. I was unable to show my face to clients because of swelling, stitches, a broken nose and broken teeth from the attack. But I was still willing to try and figure out a way to get them paid. I just could not do it their way at the time and continue to have my account overdrawn daily. The manager that I spoke with was very rude and said that they would immediately start collection if I did not get caught up and let them continue taking payments from my bank account and didn't care about any sad story about me being attacked so I didn't even bother trying to continue explaining it. I also left a message for another manger to call me back so that I could explain my situation since their collection person was relentless but he never called me back. They made me feel like a looser who was committing fraud so there was no point in ever trying to explain what really happened to me. I did owe money to another company and they agreed to patiently wait until I could get back on my feet. But Forwardline was horrible and didn't care about anything but me giving them a bank account to deduct money that I didn't have at that moment. I went into a depression for two weeks because I just didn't know what to do. Things started to get a little better and I decided to try and called them again to see if I work something out and get them paid back over several months and the manager did not call me back. Yesterday I checked the mail and received a letter from an attorney's office stating not to contact Forwardline again and threatening to file a law suit, secure a writ of attachment, prejudgment, obtain various liens with the state and credit reporting agencies and make me pay additional interest, attorneys fees if I did not pay them the full amount within 7 days. Now the total due is a more than the original loan even though I paid for several months and I now have no choice but to file bankruptcy. I tried calling this attorney's office several times but get a recording. The last couple months have been a nightmare for me and this company has been horrible which makes the situation worse. It was never my intention at all to go through this and it's a shame how nice they are until you sign a contract. From that point on everything changes and if you default for whatever reason, they are unwilling to work with you.
