It's not the most intuitive website to use, and often you're better off painstakingly finding your own shops on the site to buy your Lego from, rather than leaving it to the site to find your the parts you're looking for.
But it is still a great place to buy Lego parts. Just make a choice on if you're willing to pay more for a speedy parts find, or you've got time to kill to find the best priced sellers.
I'd recommend it for anyone looking for Lego pieces

Ordered the 7997 lego station from loonbricks. Communication was okay, but lacked a simple reply from seller after payment. Which made me think it was a scam. Fortunately the seller kept his promise and package was delivered on time.

Take caution
Bricklink is amazing for window shopping, but it functions like an Ebay exclusively for Legos, meaning that all of the sellers are 3rd party sellers. Factors like condition of item, initial cost, and shipping cost are at the mercy of the seller, and most don't tell shipping until AFTER you ordered the product. So be careful

Bricklink Designer Program giving folks a chance to buy exclusive sets!
The Bricklink Designer Program has given folks a chance to purchase sets that missed out on being official Lego Ideas sets. Lego cant produce every design ever made due to production (they only have X amount of factories, not unlimited). Many of the sets now available are large and unique! Like a proper train station, various extremely detailed buildings and other designs which a regular Lego collector would not be able to build by themselves.
As the sets are limited in quantity (5000 each of 15 designs), there is also much exclusivity. Surprisingly though, thanks to a glitch in the system (the purchasing process protected against 'bots'), approximately 6800 buyers were able to pre purchase the first set to sell out, being The Castle! The program operators decided to raise all the set productions to 10,000 copies of each (15 sets x 10,000 copies each = 150,000 in total instead of 75,000).
The downside is all futures sales of the remaining 10 sets are limited to 1 per Lego.com account (which will be strickly enforced). This means that some AFOLS who are purchasing additional sets for friends in locations which are unable to access the program will have to set up multiple accounts to do so and it might mean some of those 10 (+4) designs may not be able to sell all 10,000 copies, therefore, some of the creators of the sets will not receive their maximum commission from Lego :'(
Otherwise the program looks like a wonderful success and I hope Bricklink and Lego manage to make it a regular occurrence!!! Please please please raise the purchase limit to 2 sets per person!!!
On a small note, scalpers and investers were limited in numbers with only a few hundred buyers purchasing 3 - 5 sets of The Castle.
Bricklink has been a fantastic marketplace to be able to purchase old sets and individual Lego pieces from private sellers from all over the world and I have been an avid user for many years. The sellers are (mostly) enthusiasts so the likelihood of being scammed like on ebay is greatly minimised. You do have the protection of Paypal in the unlikely event though.
Thank you Bricklink, and especially the original creator Daniel Jezek (RIP Champ)!!!

Very useful site
Very useful site. Great prices compared to eBay, etc. and i love how it sorts the items in your cart so that they come from more convenient sellers. There's literally every piece ever made on there, sometimes in colours i never knew that they'd been made in. The site can be a little hard to navigate sometimes but otherwise fine. There's a real sense of community.
Overall, pretty awesome!

Great site once you learn how to use it!
I'd honestly just ignore the reviews talking about shipping and prices. Its the individuals running the stores that decide these things, not bricklink. Its like complaining at ebay for a few bad sellers. As long as you look at the reviews, positive vs negative, you'll almost certainly be fine. I'v only done 20 orders now, but only 1 order had shipping over £4, cuz that was an international order. And the prices are also decided by the shop, you just have to look around. 1 order was missing some pieces, just a quick contact and the seller was super nice sending them 1st class straight away. A lot of the site is really nice.
Its common sense to get as many items from a single store as possible to save on multiple shipping charges. Its definatly better to buy more than less, as its still gonna cost similar shipping to ship a single hand and a 40 piece small parcel. And a tip to save on shipping, just filter out sellers to only in your country, shipping abroad is expensive.
Without knowing what you're doing, the sites a pain to use. It can take hours finding stores that do all the parts you want to combine into one order, which is all fixed by the wanted list. Theres many other things, the site could definatly be made more user friendly, but its the best site for finding rare individual lego parts and minifigures
