Well we weren't greeted with the usual…
Well we weren't greeted with the usual hospitality, we were met by a man and woman, he was very nice, the woman just had a grumpy look on her face as they were sitting down to smoke... The housekeeper was very nice, our sheet had a spot on it, she came right in and changed them for us.... We missed Melanie and Sam, as they were always there to greet us... The room was very warm, the air didn't seem to work very well, but it was very hot outside.... We do love it there though....

We stayed in the Texas room and it…
We stayed in the Texas room and it smelled like a musty damp basement. The 36$ for breakfast was a little much for what we got.

Double check your reservation!
The people who own/run Brickhouse are great.. very attenative, and nice. But if you book a stay, look over EVERYTHING that has to do with the reservation. I thought that a Bed & BREAKFAST was just that... a bed AND breakfast. When we go to eat the first morning, we were told that a our reservation did not include breakfast and we had to pay 20 something more for each of us.. and for what we paid to stay, all food should be included. Oh and what ever happened to just a plain old farmers breakfast?

However, we're sorry to see you've left us a 3-star review, as according to our records you left us high ratings at the time of your stay. We do offer breakfast as an option, as we've found a lot of our guests opt to dine elsewhere on their own time during their exploration of the city and don't want to alter their schedules. That being said, we are extremely proud of our breakfast and have countless wonderful reviews mentioning it! In our opinion since the new ownership
In our opinion since the new ownership, there has been a noticeable decline in the unique charm that attracted us to the Brickhouse to begin with. Though the people are still fantastic that work there it is much more commercialized which we can get anywhere. Couple that with the substantial increase in price and reduction in services provided (breakfast) its a no-brainer to look elsewhere.
