I bought the Leather Safari Exotic walking stick. It is a beautiful stick the leather in the handle is very tightly wrapped. It has a very sturdy, strong feel to it, but not too heavy. The one problem with it, is the leather strap through the handle. I hike the Rockies, U.S. and Canada and I like quality equipment. The strap is too short to reach through and make one turn to hold it to your wrist. The strap is made of cheap strip of leather and bluish gray in color. I called and asked the nice lady if I could get a longer strap of brown leather. She said they were precut and all the same length and color and they were meant to be used just for hanging the stick on a rack. In steep terrain a stick is used for bracing, traction, even resting. If you take a tumble and the strap is not attached to your wrist it could fall and roll hundreds of feet from you. I solved the problem by going to a leather boot store and buying a pack of dark cowhide boot laces. Treated it with Neats Foot oil. Have enough to replace 3 times. I would buy again!! And replace leather strap again. Top Quality Stick!!
