No matter what I did everytime I opened the app it asked me to make it default asked to have access to usage reports as well as permission to import my profiles, without actually importing my stuff. I really really wanted this to work properly as i'm tired of all my ram being used up by chrome but ill just deal with it I guess.

Brave bans it's own browser and abandons users
Currently we live in a world where for Browsers the market is dominated by Chrome and it's clones. Brave was such a clone with the promise that it would protect us from all the invasive risks to our privacy. Some YouTube videos suggested that when put on a network packet analyser Brave still appeared to be "phoning home" but I put that aside as I am not capable of confirming one way or the other.
What I can comment on how Brave leaves you high and dry if you have to use disability tools that depend on older versions. Whilst it is good that they produced a version (for which they get a single star), they do not properly keep it up to date. As a result the browser is banned on many sites.
Over the last week I have been struggling to login to Yahoo because of changes they made, It would not allow me to enter my credentials with waits of 5 to 10 minutes, warnings from Brave about the time it was taking and asking me if I wanted to close the page.
Eventually I was able to enter my email address, but then the same problem with the password page, except it never finished.
What has this got to do with Brave I hear you ask, well four things.
1. It was the Brave Shields that broke the Yahoo site, disabling Shields for Yahoo.com fixed that problem but left me unprotected from the prolific privacy issues with using Yahoo.
2. Even when Shields was deactivated the Brave password manager could not deal with the two page verification page. I tried deleting the entry and saving the credentials again which it did, BUT ONLY FOR THE PASSWORD, not the email.
3. Normally if I could not store the credentials in one entry I would create one in another entry or shorten the URL so it covered both. However, Brave will not let me edit the URL,
4. Now you might be thinking, I should be contacting Brave or seeking help from the Brave community forums. Well that was the final nail in the coffin.
Brave community forums ban their own browser!
"Unfortunately, your browser is unsupported. Please switch to a supported browser to view rich content, log in and reply."
The absurdity of this is not lost on me, as a disabled person I struggle enough. Brave use a forum platform that does not support their own browser. Brave did not have to upgrade to this latest version of their forum platform. They could have kept it on an earlier level until their provider agreed to support them. In fact that would have given Brave an edge over other browsers. It might have made that awful supplier of forum software change their stance.
So I can't contact Brave, this review is of the company, it's policies and management decisions that deny me the ability to access the web.
In the UK we have an Equalities Act where disabled people can ask for reasonable adjustments to be made to cater for their disability. Brave makes no effort to attempt this.
What I find astonishing is that Brave does not value every user, as it is 22x harder to win back a customer than to obtain a new one. Add to that those disenfranchised people talking to their friends and family and pretty soon their reputation is in the toilet and it is only a matter of time before it is flushed away

I spent 40 minutes drafting a response in the Leo chat, but when I navigated to another page to gather more info, the chat reset and I lost everything. Gemini and ChatGPT do a better job.

I use Brave as my main browser
I use Brave as my main browser, and its been a solid experience so far. It feels fast, blocks a lot of annoying ads by default, and makes browsing much cleaner than what I was used to before. I also like that many useful privacy features are already built in, so I didn’t have to set up much myself. Overall, it`s been reliable and convenient for everyday use.
