I did some research on Chrome browser alternatives due to Chrome bogging down my system. Chrome is very slow and uses quite a bit of RAM which slowed my laptop down significantly. It also drained my battery quickly. Now, I don't have a 2019/2020 laptop. My laptop is over 6 years old but I have max'd out the RAM and continually tweak it to keep it running like new. I have been a network and systems engineer for over 20 years so there are things I have done to keep my system running smooth and fast. Because my internal NIC and Wireless hardware is old, I purchased an external USB network adapter capable of dual signals with 5G. This alone sped up my internet browsing speed but I still noticed Chrome being bogged down (compared to my 2nd laptop that I use for my business). Avg speed on Chrome using speedtest was 34.5 download and 14.1 upload. I downloaded and installed the Brave browser, went through the configuration process, imported all my bookmarks from Chrome, and modified some settings to suite me. This browser is FAST and I love it. Current speedtest results = 204.7 download over 165.8 upload. For those having issues with it, I suggest you look at other things going on with your computer/laptop before thinking that brave is the cause (it may or may not be the cause but do some research on your system). Now, I don't use the Brave Rewards so I cannot comment on that. However, I will never go back to Chrome as long as Brave is running like this.

I saw the data, got excited and installed it. I liked it until I opened a new tab. You don't get your selected home page. You get an annoying advertisement to sign up for Brave Rewards. I wanted to get my home page back so I searched. It said, sign-up, go to settings and turn off Brave Rewards. Great! So, I do. Open a new tab and now I get an annoying "Turn on Brave Rewards" instead of the home page I like to use. If they were so damn busy pushing their own stuff, it would have been good. I'm uninstalling and going back to Chrome

When I downloaded it, it created a virus. The virus broke my hard drive, so I had to get a new one.

Best browser ever! This is a browser that honours privacy, gives you control over ads, speeds up the internet, secure your connections, syncs across devices and pays you to view ads. This is the future of the internet!

I think Brave browser is actually a good browser. Offering good privacy with fast speed is already good enough. Rewarding users with BAT makes their browser even better. There is no reason not to use it.

I used Brave browser for a few weeks and compared to Chrome it's faster (1.5x), but the drawback is that it malfunctions on a good deal of other things e.g. extensions, freezing during faster playback on videos (on YT) and so on. While using it I noticed approx. 5 or 6 of these things- it's okay I guess since it's only version 1 and a lot of tweaking and bug fixing needs to be done, but not good enough for me. I'll only keep using it if Firefox & Chrome if it turns out that they're worse, stat-wise Going to test Firefox next...
