Bullying
Today was my child’s third day of camp (MakerSpace: Games & Toys 1 + Play It All Sports (ages 4-6) in Glenview, IL) and I found out that he was physically bullied today and yesterday by an older child (hit in the face and chest and knocked over). Michelle did inform us that this happened, but in a lackadaisical manner with a explanation as to why the child bullied my child - it seemed as though she wanted us to excuse this child’s behavior. I did not have the feeling that she felt the situation was urgent enough to really prevent further bullying incidents. I also don’t understand how the bullying went unnoticed on the first day that it happened considering there are 4 counselors and only 6 kids total. My son is the youngest in his group and the smallest physically, so I am quite upset that the team did not look out for his well being adequately. He will not be attending the last two days of camp.
