I've been in IT for years, and I've taken more online courses than I can count. Most of them either overwhelm you with information or hold your hand so much that you don't really learn to solve problems on your own. Boot.dev has been refreshingly different. The biggest strength of the platform is that it teaches you to think like a programmer instead of just memorizing syntax. The lessons build on each other naturally, and the projects force you to apply what you've learned instead of simply following along. I found myself developing confidence because I was solving problems, not because I had watched another video. I also appreciate that the curriculum feels intentional. It focuses on practical software engineering skills rather than chasing the latest trends. There were definitely moments where I struggled, but looking back, those were the moments where I learned the most. One thing I especially enjoyed was the gamified progression. Normally I'm skeptical of gamification, but here it serves the learning process rather than distracting from it. It gave me just enough motivation to keep moving without feeling gimmicky. Boot.dev isn't a magic shortcut. You'll still have to put in the work, wrestle with difficult concepts, and spend time debugging. But that's exactly why I think it's valuable. It encourages the kind of persistence that programming actually requires. If you're looking for a course that spoon-feeds every answer, this probably isn't the right fit. If you genuinely want to become a better developer and are willing to embrace the challenge, I think Boot.dev is an outstanding choice. I've come away from the experience genuinely impressed. I don't often feel compelled to recommend online learning platforms, but this is one I would confidently suggest to anyone who wants to build real programming skills.

I love boot.dev. It provided me with everything I want in a learning experience minus the 1 to 1 coaching that I could only dream of affording elsewhere. The courses are set out in a way that you can go back and forth and re-learn subjects you're not completely confident in. Thank you Lane and team for giving me this great stepping stone to becoming a competent developer and programmer!

I have been a part of the boot.dev since it's early access and it's one of the best platforms to learn backend engineering though practice and building projects. It's gamified platform does provide a little bit of fun and a sense of accomplishment. It also doesn't sacrifice on depth but gets you up and coding right from the get go. I would highly recommend this platform for anyone who wants to learn backend web development. They're also coming up with other roadmaps like DevOps, Data Analyst etc.

It has me by its hook man. The gamification angle REALLY hits hard. Content wise its comfy, they dont hold your hands much, you will find yourself reading docs a lot but overall worth it. I joined their devops path so far enjoying it

Absolutely the best online learning platform to learn how to code! It is very fun and even my 13 year old enjoys collecting experience and gaining levels.

I have been using boot.dev for almost four months now and it is the by far the best of its kind. I feel really well prepared for back-end programming, and am looking forward to the data analysis path.

It is one of the best gamified learning platforms, featuring numerous challenges.
