I recently ordered Plague of Corruption through BAM-Books A Million. I was elated! Immediately after I purchased it, I received an email confirming my order, as is typical. What wasn't typical was that, at the time of order, nowhere on any page I read, did it say the book wasn't immediately available. It wasn't until I received the email confirming my order that I was told it was on back order. Upset, I immediately contacted them via chat. The representative typed that my order would ship by 4/27. On 4/28, I emailed the company requesting a response. All I received was the auto response saying they received my request. As of today, they were still "processing a response" to me, so I called them. They informed me the book is still on back order, pending shipment from the publisher. I let them know how I felt about their unethical and unprofessional way of communicating. I cancelled my order and discovered that the book is once again available through Amazon. It is now sitting on my Kindle! I am not happy with Books A Million at all! Their website was misleading and their customer service rep lied to me!

Accused my daughters 12 year old friend of shoplifting. Yelled at her "This is bullsh×t" told her to get out. Humiliated her, she left the store in tears. Clerk should be ashamed. Lakeland Fl. At Lakeside Village

I have been a loyal customer of Books A Million for well over 20 years. Since I was in 3rd grade I have spent ALL my birthday money and gotten most of my Christmas gifts at Books A Million. With no exaggeration I have spent at least $30,000 there in the last 20 years. I have a lot of health problems and am constantly in the hospital so my only hobby is reading. Last night at the store on Kingston Pike in Knoxville, TN I was treated disgracefully by the Manager of the store. My mother was getting a lot of clearance Christmas items. As she was checking out the manager came up and told the cashier (she was so sweet and was nothing but professional) not to sell the items for the clearance price. They had come from a large display with clearance written on it!. I was carrying over $100 worth of books and magazines myself and I told Mom and the cashier that I wasn't getting any of them if they wouldn't honor their own display. I took my magazines back to the back and turned to leave and the Manager came from behind me and said loudly, "That's not where those go!" I turned to look and he started THROWING the magazines at the different racks. He was 25 feet away from one rack and was throwing the magazines as hard as he could. As he did this he was grunting and moaning like he was lifting weights or something. I was absolutely shocked. In all the years I have been going to Books A Million I have NEVER had an employee act in an unprofessional manner. Let alone it be the manager. I felt really bad for the young girl cashier. She was so embarrassed and was apologizing to us and everyone around. She didn't know what to say and was mortified at his behavior. Every time I have a treatment at the hospital I go to this Books A Million. So I am there on average 2-3 times a week and spend about $100 each time on books and especially history magazines. I will not be going back for quite some time and if I go in and he is working I will turn around and leave. Over the next few months this is going to cost this one store at least hundreds if not thousands of dollars in what I spend normally. This happened at a bad time for everyone because there are about a dozen new books coming out in the next couple months that I wanted to buy and each one is about $25 or $30 each. I have a gold lifetime membership card. My brother has been trying to get me to go a mile up the road for 15 years to Barnes and Noble. I hate to do that but right now it looks like they will be getting my business and thousand of dollars. If this manager stays at the Kingston Pike Books A Million I will happily give my hard earned money to Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and McKay's used books. I sincerely hope that something is done about this gentleman. For the sake of the other employees and the good name of the Books A Million company as a whole.

I honestly don’t know how they remain in business. I will forever be sad that Barnes and noble left our area. EVERYTIME I go to this store they don’t have the book I need. Today I was told they had one and was sent to the back of the store to find the book. Unfortunately there was absolutely no rhyme or reason as to how the books were organized. It was not based on the title it was not based on the author. I literally had four people in the store trying to find the book I needed. And guess what? It could not be found. I continue to try to come to the store thinking surely they can’t have nothing after the 30 some times I’ve been there, obviously I’m a glutton for punishment and I just need to order online from now on and wait for the book.

Just deplorable. Bordering theft. Ebook advertised as .epub after I pay it turns out it's coded in .acsm format so I can't read it on my e-reader. Upon demanding my money back they completely ignore it get template replies instead of how to open it on my computer. I knew that. wow...
