Ordered and waited a few days. No shipment info received. Called to cancel the order and was told that it was pending so they couldn't.. Received a shipping notification that evening. Label created. That was the 30th. Says could take 72 hours for info to update. Info didn't update on the 31st so I had to wait over the weekend due to New Year's. On Monday, tracking only showed label created still. Called again and was told that since there wasn't any tracking info that they would issue a refund.....in 3 days. Then another 3-5 days to receive it. Because the label was created they couldn't cancel the order. They acted as if the package was lost, though after reading the reviews here I sincerely doubt it. It sure seems like they created a label after I asked for the order to be cancelled in order to prevent the order from being cancelled in the future. Coincidence probably.... And customer service is anything but. All they'll tell you is what they can't do to correct the situation. And they can't do anything at all. I used to go into books a million all the time. After this experience I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. In the end I'm probably going to have to reverse the charge on my card to receive resolution to the problem. Horrid company. I would avoid them if I were you.

Gotta love false details. They took my money right away and gave delivery dates then proceed to tell me it is backordered..... Never again.

Do yourself a HUGE favor & order from ANY other place. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE company to order from. I rarely leave reviews but this is just ridiculous. I ordered 3 books 2 weeks ago. 1 I noticed 2 days later (by looking at my order, NOT by getting an email from them) that 1 of the books (they sold me as in stock) is now "on order". I could have ordered all 3 from another place (& gotten free shipping). And would have all 3 a wk ago. I tried to find out if I'd get the 3rd book period, let alone in time for Christmas, to get pretyped basic responses. I emailed 2 more times trying to get an actual response to what I was asking in my emails. During this...my other 2 shipped 12 days ago & I STILL don't have them. I've now had to order the other 1 from another company paying 20% more PLUS another shipping cost bc I didn't order there during the sale, & now getting only 1 book also have to pay shipping (again). So that's all frustrating, but then I emailed their normal support email address to tell them to cancel my order as I've ordered elsewhere. Then explained why I was upset. And I get a very odd return email from" MAILER-DAEMON...." with letters & stuff that make no sense but at the top am told "Hi. This is the qmail-send program at mail.booksamillion.com. I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.". So trying to cancel my order I am being delivered as spam...oh well too bad sorry it didn't work out, lol. Not ok! So I have to find a way to cancel this so I'm not charged in 4 weeks if they get the book. And may have to reorder the others as they should have been here 5 days ago.

HORRIBLE BUSINESS WITH NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! BEWARE!STAY AWAY! THEY WILL NEVER SHIP YOU ANYTHING AND THEY WILL NEVER LET YOU CONTACT THEM ABOUT ISSUES. I HAD TO CANCEL ORDERS THRU MY CREDIT CARD AFTER WAITING MONTHS WITH NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL. STAY AWAY! BUYER BEWARE! THIS BUSINESS IS TRASH!

Don’t ever buy from Books a Million. Not even in store or online. Online they never ship the books in time and it takes weeks. Or they downright are scummy and leave your order pending. In store they sign you up for magazine subscriptions that renew on their own. I can’t ever just buy a book without the extra garbage. Terrible company that should be avoided like the plague.

Nothing. Nothing was in the box. Oh, but it was wrapped and sealed nicely, and had all the promising aura of a newly packaged novel. Much to my heartbreak, Books-a-Million took my money and sent me boxed bemusement. Parceled pain. Distributed dissatisfaction. I’ve cancelled the rest of my order, but have zero faith that that effort will prove useful. I don’t expect a refund. I won’t shop here again and will advise even a complete stranger to steer clear of the empty Books-a-Million.

This was the worst online ordering experience I have EVER had. I never leave reviews but had to for this awful company. I ordered a book back in JANUARY!!! January 2021 and just got notified by my bank that they charged me for the book that I have waited 9 MONTHS for. To which I actually moved out of state so now I have absolutely no way of even getting said book I waited MONTHS for. To which they also never even sent me an email saying the book was shipped or my account was getting charged 9 months later. When I contacted customer service of this, they refused to refund me or really do anything other than send a letter instructing the resident of the address I had the book shipped to to return the book and then I could get the refund. I don't even know who lives at that address. I tried to cancel the order months ago but was unable to because when I looked up how to, their site says you can't cancel an order if it's "in processing" which my order was for at least a good 3 months as I would go back periodically and check the order. I of course forgot about this order because there were more pressing issues in my life, but now BAM has blamed me for not reaching out to customer service to cancel the order but I thought I wasn't able to since it was in processing. DO NOT order from them. They are a horrible company with the worst customer service ever.

Double charge and won’t refund in timely manner, say let your bank handle it. I’ll handle it and NEVER ORDER FROM YOU AGAIN.
