Dr Orbeck with BodyLogic
Dr. Orbeck is someone I completely trust as my hormone specialist. Not only is he very knowledgeable and professional in all he does, it's apparent he loves and is very passionate about health. He cares about his patients which is part of why I travel from another state four times a year to see him. My life has been changed by treatments he has given me. I'm grateful to have found BodyLogic and Dr. Orbeck.

Good staff bad doctor
I was a patient of Dr Coopers. I’ve given them two stars - 1 for the staff who are awesome! Friendly and helpful, especially the nurse. I also gave one star because the doctor didn’t seem interested in stringing me along as she didn’t feel she could help me. I appreciate that she didn’t want me to waste my money.
I took away three stars for three reasons. First, I was told that a certain medication would not interfere with the testing. This was a lie as the tests are inconclusive when on that medication. Second, Dr Cooper needs to work on her “bedside manner”. I didn’t feel as though my problems mattered to her at all. Maybe she was having a bad day, I don’t know. I felt that the doctor was prejudiced against my specific illness and not as knowledgeable as she claimed to be. I received conflicting information from her from three other doctors in the medical field who specialize in my specific diagnosis. Third, I felt like the costs were extremely high but was mostly bothered by the fact they charge for ordering labs before you even meet the doctor. If I had met the doctor before she ordered the labs, I think both the doctor and I would have agreed to not continue with the treatment. Basically while the staff was great, my overall experience was not good.

Dear Katie,
Thank you for your comment. We are sorry to hear about your experience. Please let me explain our side.
BodyLogicMD is not insurance based, so it operates a little different from a conventional doctor’s office. While you may be able to utilize your insurance for some of the requested lab tests, in most cases, out of pocket fees, do still apply. BodyLogicMD charges a processing fee any time testing is ordered – which is roughly 3-4 times a year. This processing and administration fee covers all of the back office work that is done related to your appointments and treatment. This fee is paid for a few weeks before your consultation when you decide to get started to order testing for upcoming appointments. If you visit a BodyLogicMD practice, you may notice that the in-office staff is much smaller than a traditional medical practice, and that’s because the practitioner has a support team that operates remotely and handles all of the administrative work. Doing this allows the practitioner to spend more time with you and focus entirely on your care, and while some may view this as an extra fee, in reality, it helps keep the consultation fees low compared to other concierge practices.
We are sorry that you felt misled and scammed – that is not our intention. All patients are sent an email upon getting started that outlines the costs that were reviewed. The consultation fee is paid to the practitioner at the time of your appointment and prescriptions costs are paid to the pharmacy or through the Auto-Orders department following that appointment. Prescription costs vary dependent upon your treatment plan.
We are also sorry that you feel disappointed with Dr. Cooper’s bedside manner. Dr. Cooper has served the greater Salt Lake City area as a bioidentical hormone specialist for the better part of a decade, and her patients have always praised her for the level of professionalism and care that she shows them during appointments. Since she is always striving to improve, we will speak with Dr. Cooper to ensure that she continues to provide an exceptional level of care.
Thank you again for your feedback. We do appreciate your kind words for the office staff; they do so much behind the scenes to make sure that Dr. Cooper’s office is running efficiently, and they don’t always receive recognition for that. It is also our understanding that you received a refund for your initial administrative fee. If that is not correct, please do not hesitate to contact us, and we wish you the best of health moving forward.

Warning signs...
I was a computer security specialist, and I learned to identify lots of signs of dubious businesses. i have been contacted repeatedly by BodyLogicMD to set up my appointment, and decided to look more closely.
My first warning was the email they sent me. The email was from "Robin Kramer" but the body of the message claimed to be from "Abigail Weathers". This is a common problem for spammers, and a warning flag for me.
The company also has a dubious business model, where they both "certify" the doctors, then sell them product. I will not judge BodyLogic, but my Dad got sucked into a similar scam with a vitamin company and it was a major pain to dig him out.
This is not a review, just a warning.
Response from BodyLogicMDFeb 6, 2020
Dear Stiv,
We apologize for the confusion, but this can be explained. The name discrepancy you noticed in the email was just due to one Patient Services representative covering for another while they were out of the office. We are already working on making sure that this does not happen again in the future.
In regards to certifying our doctors, that is just not something that BodyLogicMD has the authority to do. All of our practitioners are required to be Board Certified and have to meet a host of other requirements (listed below) before they can practice integrative medicine with BodyLogicMD. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us at [email protected].
--Physician must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in a clinical field that requires patient contact and in good standing with their associated college
--Physician must complete the Fellowship for Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine
--Physician must take part in continuing medical education in the area of anti-aging and functional medicine of no less than 150 credits accrued over a 3 year period
--Be an active member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M)
--Physician must pass both oral and written board of the American Board of Anti-Aging Physicians within 1 year of opening their practice
--Proof of Medical licensing, Course completions, Malpractice and successfully meet listed verification and interview requirements

Serious Concerns with BodyLogicMD ...
We contacted BodyLogicMD (Carmel, IN) because they seemed to have experience for our need. While the costs would be out-of-pocket, we decided to seek the assistance of Dr. Reynolds. This turned out to be a series of red flags, leaving ethical issues at the heart of our experience.
As some have already noted, the manner in which clients are charged is not standard for the industry. Just make sure to watch your bank account for unexpected charges.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
There seems to be conflict of interest with BodyLogicMD. Dr. Reynolds, upon review of test results, will recommend a series of supplements. These supplements are filled using BodyLogicMD's providers - where BodyLogicMD receives a portion of the sales. This is similar to asking a salesperson from Honda to help me decide between buying a new Honda or a new Toyota.
LONG-TERM REVENUE STREAM OBJECTIVE
As a provider of professional services, I feel the reserved approach by Dr. Reynolds is more focused on building a long-term revenue stream than to provide responsive results to the customer.
She intentionally leaves out aspects of the test results for future visits. In the meantime, she will request additional lab work - adding to the costs/consultation time required. Dr. Reynolds is always leaving the customer to require future visits.
QUICK TO PLACE BLAME
During a session with Dr. Reynolds, she prescribed a product that was to be used for only a short period of time. She was very clear to indicate that the usage would be short-term - with no long-term issues.
We received this product and realized the quantity was not going to be enough for the period Dr. Reynolds recommended. When contacting the vendor, we were informed that short-term use would NOT result in long-term benefits.
Dr. Reynolds, she was quick to state, "well that is not what they told us at the conference." She followed-up to indicate the vendor misunderstood BodyLogicMD's implementation. We tried to get a three way call with the vendor to clarify the situation, but our request was refused.
Clearly, Dr. Reynolds is not researching such products before prescribing them to her patients.
WE HAD TO ASK ... TIME AND AGAIN
While Dr. Reynolds is the expert in the field, we got the point where we were doing our own research and suggesting adjustments to the current treatment plan. We felt like we were leading our treatment plan with a medical professional who was not engaged.
READ THE WARNING LABELS
The final issue for us happened when Dr. Reynolds and her team called in a prescription. Before picking up the prescription we found (3 different sources) that the #1 side effect is the EXACT REASON we were visiting BodyLogicMD. We were shocked to know that BodyLogicMD did not take the time to read the warning label before subscribing the product to their customer.
BE READY FOR CONFRONTATION
Lastly, the office staff at BodyLogicMD appears to function in a disorganized state. When additional labs were ordered, we asked for an approximate cost. The staff member was quick to state that she "had no idea" how much the labs would cost. That she basically "just put the request in the computer."
When we called the Florida office, the staff member was confused on why the Carmel location would not be able to communicate the lab costs.
When pressed for more details or rational explanations for charges/standards/policies, the staff members were quick to react in a negative way - even ending the conversations abruptly or becoming hostile/condescending.
CONCLUSION
My goal in providing this information is to give other customers some insight into our experience with BodyLogicMD. After all, the entire experience is out-of-pocket expenses, which can quickly add up with the rates that are charged and the non-standard charge polices being employed by Dr. Reynolds and the team at BodyLogicMD.

Body logic is terrible
Body logic is terrible. I have been very patient with them for 2 years and they have screwed up my prescriptions consistently. Not faxing the script, not putting in the order period. You can’t get your doctor or his office to respond to you when you leave an email or voicemail. You call body logic and they can’t get them to respond either. Why pay for all this when you can’t even get service? Go somewhere else where they will actually send you meds when they take your money. Also if you have any questions good luck getting those answered in between appointments. There are lots of doctors, no need to waste your time and money on these guys.

Dear Joe,
We apologize for your negative experience, but this is rather atypical. We are always trying to improve, so please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] if you would like us to make things right with you.
1/31 UPDATE
Dear Joe,
It is our understanding that the pharmacy is working on a refund, and you should be hearing from your BLMD office about this. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I've been a patient of Dr Wehr
I've been a patient of Dr. Wehr's now for about 10 months. Going through menopause, lack of energy, no sex drive are what originally brought me into Body Logic. Although I was hesitant and nervous about the up front costs I could not be more pleased with the health benefits I have received! I had no idea that Dr. Wehr would also be able to help me with many of my other health challenges. I suffer with multiple auto immune diseases, including Celiac, anklyosis spondilitis, connective tissue disease, systemic lupus, rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis. I had no idea how terrible I felt until I actually started feeling better. While many other Doctors want to just keep writing prescriptions for me to manage my pain, Dr. Wehr has been trying to heal the under lying problems. I am thrilled with the progress and can't wait to continue my journey of feeling better with the on going care of Dr Wehr and Body Logic!

This review was not solicited but is…
This review was not solicited but is long overdue! I have been seeing Dr. Kissel for almost 6 years now and when I first came to her, I was a complete mess. Despite being diagnosed with hypothyroidism and put on Synthroid by my regular Doctor years before, my health was rapidly declining. Dr Kissel was the first doctor to actually run the tests no one else would. She was the only doctor who sat down with me and not only showed me my numbers, but explained what they actually mean and what was happening in my body. She continues to give me excellent care, and comes from a data-driven, yet holistic approach that combines scientific evidence, prescription medications, and natural remedies and supplements. She has crafted a care plan that is just for me and I have honestly never felt better. I was so sick for so long, I just didn't realize that wasn't the way things had to be. I'm forever in her debt!
