False advertising! Their “unlimited “ service is capped at a set amount of hours and they claim “unlimited “ means unlimited servers, not hours.
Very misleading!
Response from BobcaresSep 29, 2026
Hi Greg,
We are sorry to know that the use of the word “unlimited” was misleading and caused confusion.
We would like to clarify that on our Server Management page https://bobcares.com/server-management/, we clearly mention: “No limit on the number of servers supported. You get expert unlimited server support within minutes – 24/7.” Here, “unlimited” refers to the number of servers supported, not unlimited support hours.
This is also explained in detail on the same page --- "Limitless Server Management and monitoring services do not put a limit on the number of servers supported. You will have 24/7 access to server experts for proactive and on-demand server administration activities, as long as it falls within your total 36 hours/year (Annual billing plan), 9 hours/3 months (Quarterly billing plan), or 3 hours/month (Monthly billing plan) quota"
We hope this clarification helps explain how the plans work. We are sorry that this was not clear to you initially, and we appreciate your feedback.

CAUTION!! Not Professional or Experts as advertised
CAUTION!!! Incompetent, Lack of Professional service and extortionate rates. Failed to identify the issues and continued to blame all other parties including Hosting and other parties. Not Customer focused or competent in dealing with Moodle Issues. Be Warned theY advertise as experts and professionals but they are certainly are not. We independently resolved the Moodle site issues (which were small issues) for our respective students after Bobcares made the situation worse.
So disappointed and highly recommend all others to explore alternatives before considering paying these extortionate fees and putting your site, and business at risk!!!
Response from BobcaresSep 3, 2025
Hi Glen,
We are truly sorry to hear about your disappointment and want to provide the full context for clarity.
Our team followed standard best practices by creating a complete backup before upgrading Moodle from v3.11.18 to v4.2. When issues arose, we attempted to restore the latest backup. Unfortunately, three unexpected failures occurred during the process:
i) phpMyAdmin could not handle the full database restore.
ii) The hosting panel stalled at 99% during restoration.
iii) The hosting provider restored an older backup instead of the most recent one.
To minimize downtime, our engineers manually restored the available database and adjusted the configuration, which successfully brought the site back online. These failures stemmed from the limitations of the shared hosting environment—a risk we had previously advised against. A VPS with root access would have eliminated these obstacles.
The 5 hours you purchased were fully utilized across backup, upgrade, multiple restore attempts, escalation, and recovery work. However, as a goodwill gesture, we have credited back the entire 5 hours, reaffirming our commitment to fairness and customer satisfaction.
We remain dedicated to providing professional, transparent service and regret the frustration caused by the hosting environment’s constraints.

The quality of work sucks you have to…
The quality of work sucks you have to spell out any little thing, they switched the nameservers on a site and did not reenter the DNS records. I can send you 50 examples of simple tasks they bumble.
0 - Quality control
0 - Reading comprehension
0 - Communication
EDIT: I don't trust you I have asked for a full refund of time. This is not a one-time thing let me know if I need to post many other examples of your incompetence. Ill be happy too.
Response from BobcaresMar 1, 2024
Dear Blake,
I'm reaching out to address the concerns you raised regarding the DNS records migration and the subsequent challenges you encountered. I'd like to clarify the situation and detail the measures we've taken to resolve the issue.
We became aware of the difficulties you faced during the DNS records migration following the DNS switch. It was observed that the DNS records were not correctly transferred to the new server, leading to your concern. We apologize for the issue on our end in ensuring the DNS records were accessible on the new server after the migration. Despite our engineer’s initial belief that the migration was successful, steps were missed to confirm that, which is against our norms. As per the level of service reviews here, this was not our normal level of service and has been escalated and resolved internally.
I want to emphasize that this incident does not reflect our usual service quality or our capabilities. As an ISO-certified organization, we follow strict quality standards and have rigorous checks in place to prevent errors. However, when shortcomings occur, we are committed to acknowledging our mistakes, addressing them promptly, and taking steps to prevent them in the future.
Following your report on February 28th at 17:00, we confirmed that all DNS records had been accurately restored and were operational. To alleviate the inconvenience this situation has caused you, we have credited your account so that you can continue to use our service cost-free to ensure you see our service standards we provide daily to thousands of customers.
You can be assured that we are taking this incident very seriously. We are thankful for your patience and continued trust in us. Our team is committed to providing the high-quality service you deserve, and we look forward to continuing to support your needs.
Should you have any further concerns or need additional assistance, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

I was really hoping these reviews were right
I was really hoping these reviews were going to be right and that maybe every outsourced indian company that I have tried in the past were going to be just a bad experience, but theses guys were going to be the "real Deal" - how wrong was I.
First of all - there average response time that they advertise, is how long it takes them to respond to you a generic message saying we have received the ticket and to give them a "moment" to look. This is purely to keep up their stats, and ends up becoming annoying when every response you hope is a tech but it's just someone telling you "moment". When you do hear from someone - it will literally just be to ask you more questions, and then you'll have to wait hours for them to send another one back so that an average ticket can take 6 - 12 hours because they don't sit and work on your ticket, they are trying to have good stats by saying that they reply, despite the tech never actually doing anything. They will never use their own initiative, you'll always have to tell them what to do. For example, they focus on scanning my server twice now for viruses despite files being created that shows there is something that is still there - no one thinks about it until I again point it out and say I've scanned the server that's taken 24 hours twice now, but whatever is there, is still causing it to be there - shouldn't we make sure we are secured before running another virus scanner.
Oh yes, let us now work on a script to close back door. You will have to hold there hand ALL the time. Every single time, hold their hand.

At Bobcares, we are committed to catering to diverse client needs through our various service plans. Devil is in the detail.
I wanted a HA Wordpress site, which bobcares has done before (bobcares_com/blog/wordpress-high-availability-hosting/). My plan was more complex. Kubesphere 1.26 cluster on Ubuntu 22.04 on bare-metal, with Longhorn, Percona XtraDB & Velero. Backup Kubesphere 1.26 cluster with Longhorn, Rook-Ceph with S3 Hashicorp Vault. I went for the Limitless Server Support (https://bobcares_com/server-administration-service/) for $1068AUD. bobcares gave me an extra 8 hours on top of the 36 hours. I installed the Ubuntu, Longhorn, LAN, Rook-Ceph and Kubesphere. I discovered bobcares did not check/install a firewall, antivirus or anti-malware, so installed my own ufw, clamav, maldetect, wazuh server and cron jobs. What I thought was inclusive was actually 1 hour per server per month for 'auditing' which at 3 hours per month is only 3 servers. 'Limitless' is up to 20 servers and 3 websites before additional charges. Part of the hours are used for technicians to study, which is reasonable for implementing HashiCorp Vault with Rook-Ceph-S3 as that is an uncommon skill. Being asked if a port is blocked by a firewall is unexpected as this can be checked (www_yougetsignal_com/tools/open-ports) and a temporary listener (nc -l portNumber). When a master node went down and it took 4 days to 'fix' without actually fixing it I was upset. Rook-Ceph went down, the backup cluster went down. I had already wasted two weeks including $1000+AUD in server hire, I wanted to get out. I was given a refund based on the % of hours remaining from the 36 hours I paid for. I was also offered a further free 5 hours, which I will never use. I am not sure if bobcares would be worthwhile for less that three stable servers, but I am glad I can move on. I have wiped the servers as there was nothing of value worth salvaging.
update 16/7/23: Thanks Sruthi for your reply. I had no problems signing up even after the explanation of 'Limitless' servers as I had less than 20 servers, I think it important that advertised products should be clearly stated, as you have said you will improve. At $500+AUD server hire per week and no visible progress apart from my own I lost patience. Auditing (e.g. Wazuh) and hardening (e.g. ufw, clamav, maldetect and cron updates) seem different to me and I was wrong to think that 'monitoring' included hardening. I was correctly refunded, its just the progress per hour and hours worked each day was unexpectedly low. bobcares does have a good average rating and clearly some customers have had great experiences, I wish fewer exceptions like mine in the future.
Response from BobcaresJul 14, 2023
Hi Damien,
I am sorry to hear that your experience with us was not satisfactory, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. I know we have talked within a ticket as well and I will respond here as well.
We take your feedback seriously and are committed to addressing the issues you encountered. Some clarity is needed and I will explain below.
During the signup process, you questioned the 20 server points you raise above and you were happy with our response, as we provided you with an answer that you were happy with.
We explained (prior to your sign-up) the following - Saturday 24th June at 13:00 and I quote:
“Our Limitless Server Support Plan includes 'unlimited servers for 24/7 on-demand support.' Additionally, you can add up to '20 servers for 24/7 monitoring' within the same plan..….”
And to which, you responded - Saturday 24th June at 13:24:
“Hi, Thanks for the detailed response.
Regards,
Damien
And then continued to sign up. This point seemed clear from our end. I hope we provided you with enough clarity as your response seems to suggest so. Reeshma provided you with details, as well as myself on the auditing and how to get certain features of your plan. We accept this could be clearer and have taken internal steps to make it easy for clients to see how to access these pieces of information. We also alerted you that the portal team had been notified of this, we take minor and major improvements from customers straight to our internal development teams to action and put live.
After some clarity, and the specialized software you mention above, Reeshma (one of our senior team members) alerted you that George KC would be the best fit for all your tasks going forward and was allocated to your tickets. As you acknowledge, there is some software in your stack that is not widely used and we try to support all stacks. When George KC was allocated to your account specifically there was some progress and you wanted George to only work on the issues going forward.
“Monday 3rd July at 17:24
Thanks Reeshma, I would like George to finish of the job this week, even if it burns all my hours.
Regards,
Damien”
With all that said, we realize in several of the tickets we were not as timely as we would like to be and are reputable for and we did not hit the service quality levels that we would want. There were some communication gaps, even if the software was not widely used. We have created internal corrective actions for this and we take this extremely seriously.
We refunded you the monetary amount of unused hours that were in your account at the time of the complaint ticket. We knew we had not performed the level of service we would want anyone to experience and we take this very seriously.
We also provided you with another 5 hours, to use us at any point in the future, hopefully with George KC and our other talented engineers, to show you that we can provide a stellar service that we are known for.
Again, we are sorry that your experience was not to the level that clients expect and receive from Bobcares on a daily basis, we hope in the future with your complimentary hours we can make up for this.

It leaves me no pleasure whatsoever to…
**An update to this review**
I want to follow up with an update on the situation outlined below.
I moved to a dedicated host that provided an actively managed server. I made the switch and it took approx 2 hours.
The issue that Bobcares were unable to fix was sorted out immediately... literally. This makes me question what they were doing during the countless hours that I spent going back and forth with them.
I received a full refund from Bobcares but this didn't make up for the sheer amount of my time that they wasted.
**An update to this review**
It leaves me no pleasure whatsoever to leave this review, however, I'd like people to be aware of my experience before using Bobcares.
I've used Bobcares for 7 or so months at this point, and I really really wanted the service to live up to my expectations, but it hasn't. It has fallen way below the mark.
When I signed up with Bobcares, I thought I was taking the stress out of the server management side of my business, and that if I had any urgent requirements that they would be seen to... urgently.
1. Let's talk about the urgent support, first.
March 17th is the busiest day of the year for our website. On that morning, we encountered some issues due to traffic volume.
I paid extra for urgent support and, after having to keep messaging the team on live chat, eventually got a reply.
The problem was, there was nothing urgent about the response. I had to keep chasing them for a reply and, annoyingly, the problem wasn't correctly diagnosed - some simple questions asked when I raised the ticket would have resulted in us finding a solution in half the time.
I spent considerable time chasing and waiting for a reply. I let it slide in the hope that this was one negative experience. It wasn't.
2. Now, on to the general requests.
What has pushed me over the edge recently was a situation where we scheduled a task for off peak time.
The task began 30 minutes after the instructed time, which is fine, but when I logged on 1.5 hours later the server was offline.
The team said they 'assumed' that off-peak meant they could have the server offline for a 4 hour task. If this was agreed in advance, that would be fine, but it wasn't.
They didn't communicate that this was happening - I only noticed it as I had monitoring set up, so I saw the email when I woke up. The server only came back online when I raised multiple tickets. This is my buisness. This isn't acceptable.
They applied 'hours' to my account though. This doesn't account for my lost revenue, however.
Another issue that crops up time and time again is, when there is an issue and you raise a non-urgent ticket request, you get a reply explaining what the problem is - great. The work gets scheduled and it gets completed.
However, then the issue arises again and another solution is provided - it's like a constant patch solution is applied rather than getting to the route cause of the problem.
I really want Bobcares to be a great solution that I know I can rely on but, in my experience, that just hasn't been the case.
3. A total lack of confidence
The final straw for me was an incident that happened on June 23rd. On June 22nd, it was agreed that, in order to test out several changes to the server, including a reverse proxy setup, work would be done on a new 'test' server.
A snapshot was taken, we stopped all work on our website for a day (it's a busy news website) and the bobcares team went to work and everything was fine. It was then agreed that the new server, containing the reverse proxy and a new caching service, would be pushed live at an off-peak time.
Great.
Although I asked the technician on the ticket to ensure that the person who would be carrying out the work was fully aware of what needed to be done, that wasn't the case - the person working on the ticket made only one of the changes.
And they made it to the live site.
So, we lost an entire days worth of work (we paused making any changes as a snapshot had been taken) for aboslutely nothing and we now require a further 2 hours of server downtime to complete the task.
I asked to speak to the team lead who first claimed "I had ensured that George that personally communicated to Ameer (the person who handled the task) on what has to be done'.
If that was the case then why wasn't the work done correctly, I asked. The response: 'ya, I over rid it because of the instructions you gave yestrday regarding downtime duration.. am sorry for that'.... and this was despite the fact that this team lead argued with me that everything was done as it should have been.
4. In conclusion
I really want bobcares to be a great solution, but it really isn't. A frequent breakdown in commiunication is the biggest issue.
As I said previously, I take no pleasure in writing this review - but I've reached breaking point at this stage.
Response from BobcaresJun 23, 2023
Hi Keith,
I will go through the points one by one, in order to address your review:
i) I’ve reviewed this and we would say this is quite timely in nature, in our priority chat software, you had 50+ responses/replies with our tech team member over chat back and forth fluently. Within an hour, we provided you with the errors that you needed to show to a developer. You ended the chat with the following: “I will wait to hear back from the developer. Thanks for your help”. The issue was resolved at that point and left with yourself.
ii) Regarding this task, we admit that we did not provide the correct disclaimer to alert you about a scenario where during the maintenance, some downtime could have happened. The corrective action on our end has been taken and we could have provided a better disclaimer. On the back of this we gave you 5 priority hours to use for our service in future. We should have understood more clearly your off-peak hours at this time. We are sorry for this.
iii) We admit that while we were able to provide you with a solution you accepted and asked us to schedule, the two team members could have communicated better, the architect of the solution and the team member performing the task in the morning off-peak hours. The redis cache element had a gap in communication, whether the client (yourself) needed to confirm or not. This is not the Bobcares standard.
I see that even after this one star review, you have come and used our service where you thanked us for our help. While you have had many good experiences using our brand since late 2022, with audit tasks, alert handling and more, we know that these specific issues listed above were not to the Bobcares level both you and we expect. We’re providing you with a refund for your service plan and are providing you with hours and service in the future.

After a fantastic experience, it fell apart quickly
After an initial fantastic experience, it all fell apart. I even wrote a review outlining that experience.
Since that initial review, Bob Cares has:
1) Incorrectly handled server management tasks resulting in downtime and lost customers
2) Missed numerous support tickets resulting in unhappy customers
3) Offered a refund, but after giving them an additional chance to right things, refused to refund un-used administration hours
4) Were unable to escalate tickets internally to different support levels
5) Always blamed the end customer for issues they were having. Rarely found the right resolution and just escalated all tickets to me.
6) Tried to upsell me additional services upon cancelation
7) Billed me after cancellation, and still cannot cancel the account in full. I had to cancel my card.
In short, stay away; you might get lucky and get a competent service once, but it will be terrible over time.
Response from BobcaresMay 7, 2023
Hi Anthony,
As per your review, and several emails between us about these specific issues, I’ll address specifics and other points below.
1. If you are referencing the server migration at the end of December 2022, we would like to bring to the attention of the readers here that while there were some glitches during the migration, Sherin (our server admin lead) and I met with you in January 2023 to discuss these issues and take corrective action. I trust you recall the meeting, and that you were pleased with the steps we took to improve the service quality. For your convenience, the meeting minutes of that call were provided to you, so you can recall the positive nature of that call in relation to the actions and feedback.
2. For your other points, I would bring to the attention of the readers that a) You acknowledged our efforts and improvements in your feedback on March 18th via ticket #230171: "Overall it has been good, we had some rough patches but we have gotten thru them and the QC managers always are able to correct the problems." We had not had anything else suggested anywhere else.
3) Regarding being “offered a refund”, we did provide you with a partial refund and that was processed already so I do not believe it was just offered, we offered a partial refund even though we had no obligation to do so as we thought it was appropriate.
4) We discussed this on the call on Jan 24th at 7 AM CST.
5) I believe this is in regard to the WordPress issue. We’ve tried to prove to you that this was not us. We’ve asked for logs if you believe this was us. We stand by our point that we were not the party at fault for the WordPress auto-update issue.
6) Since April 6th, I see that you have interacted with only two people in the business, myself and Visakh. I discussed this particular point with Visakh and we were not able to find a place where we tried to upsell you additional services since this point.
7) As I see, you raised the cancellation on April 6th, after the WordPress ticket. We have not billed anything since that point.
We take every piece of customer feedback seriously. Whenever there was an issue, we investigated it and you provided us a positive feedback with regards to our QC process per 2) above “QC managers always are able to correct the problems.” We take QC seriously and we get on calls/interact with any customer that has anything but a stellar service until we receive positive feedback. We’ll always do that for every customer, new and old. I’m sorry you feel this way in regard to our service.

I'd rather be at the dentist having my teeth pulled.
Hard to gauge the if the reviews here are real or not. Or perhaps some clients get good service while others get horrible service. Personally I'd rather be at the dentist having my teeth pulled.
I bought:
Limitless Server Management @ $1068
Emergency Support - 5 Hours @ $445
All in One @ $129/mo
Forced to by Limitless Server Management, no server set up included in All in One. Yet, they are fine charging me for it without having a set up server.
I have a single server with BobCares, and they've now spent an entire month setting it up, and they're still no done.
Server Install requested: 08/11/2022 (23:16)
Server install botched, requiring OS reinstall, restarting: 10/11/2022 (08:04)
Server Install Part 2:
constant problems, as if they've never set up a server in their lives.
Server Install Part 3:
I request X, they install Y, complete disregard for my onboarding documents, complete disregard for requirements outlined. And a mind blowing amount of rework (all billed of course)
Server Install Part 4: currently 14/12/2022
- paying for AIO, yet lack server required for AIO
- team has spent 24h 18m ($720.89) and set up is still incomplete
The last few days pushed me over my limit!
I requested access.log and error.log be automatically created under the /log/ folder in the user's domain. We're on day 5 now and this was escalated to 'team lead' to check.
Frankly, I can not comprehend how this company has any clients (or why my experience is so horrific compared to others). If this is simply a results of 'low priority or low value client' stop offering the service and focus on your existing client base.

Hi Grant,
Sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the service we provided. I accept that our server administration team in this case did not work to the normal Bobcares standard.
Let me clarify that for the server setup task, the team took 16 hours and 8 minutes as billable time (not, 24 hours). I understand a few delays occurred due to an unexpected surge between Nov 11th till Nov 14th. As Bobcares always value our customer satisfaction, we reverted the credits back to your account.
Grant, I opened a ticket for you where I explained the corrective measures moving forward to address all your issues.
