An Honest Critique
To give a good review one must end on a good note that supercedes the cons. The Pros: The amount of material for learning strategy is adequate. Course books, supplemental books, handouts, and if thats not enough practice exams and questions. Lectures, explanations, metrics, and options to set goals. The online interface from instructors to students functions fine, and the structure of time gives adequate opportunity to have questions answered by some of the most charming and intelligent individuals (shoutout to Austen Yueh and Dylan Gadek!). The support staff that you can call if you begin to have problems, for example nerves, really do help bring it all together. The Cons: The course has a scholarly feel to it but if that was its aim it missed by a hairsbreadth. It got academics right but one could make the argument that part of the experience is having accountability to the people you learn from, IE instructors and classmates. That part may be on students but generally I would see that as a reason to perform better than poorer. Another is pricing. I think all of the classes and online access is fair, but while I did want tutoring $200/hr + 2 hr minimum is no small amount. Definitely not a selling point when I went ahead and got just about everything else on the menu. Class time to go over material reportedly decreased by a significant amount than the in previous courses. Did the price drop too with the removal of class time and material, as reportedly the material also shrunk? Or was there a compensation somewhere? Unanswered questions but it does leave a bit of curiosity. I’d definitely recommend the course for anyone interested in Law School or the LSAT, but also give them my experience, and perhaps leftover books, printouts, and notes.
