I just wanted to say a big thank you to the Spanish Consulate in Edinburgh for making the visa application process so smooth and stress-free. I’ve applied for several Schengen visas over the years, as well as visas for countries in Asia and for the UK, where I live, and honestly, Spain has been by far the most straightforward experience I’ve had. This is actually the second time I’ve applied through the Spanish Consulate in Edinburgh — first in March last year and again in August 2026 — and both experiences have been excellent. The website is very clear and easy to use, and I particularly appreciate the appointment system. Compared with some countries where appointments are released once a month and disappear immediately, or where there simply aren’t any slots available, Spain’s system feels so much more accessible. The BLS staff in Edinburgh were also efficient and professional, especially the gentleman at the door/reception area who takes cash. He’s always very patient, which made the whole process even easier. But what impressed me most was the turnaround time, in under 14 days my application was completed and passport returned. The efficiency of the processing is honestly what sets Spain apart for me. As an African applicant, I know how stressful visa applications can be. It can be very easy to feel anxious about getting a refusal or struggling to even secure an appointment for biometrics. So having such a straightforward and efficient experience really stood out to me. I also think Spain deserves a lot of credit for processing applications in Edinburgh rather than requiring everyone in Scotland to travel to London. Bringing the service closer to applicants makes such a difference. I would definitely recommend Spain to anyone considering travelling to Europe for tourism. Terrible service finally got a appointment a month before travel paid extra . It's been 6 weeks missed and lost money for first holiday. They emailed me a week after I was supposed to go on holiday asking for new holiday bookings. Booked and sent a new holiday to them it's been a week and still not received anything back still saying mission in progress

What an amazing team, very helpful and considerate, never came across a visa processing center as the one in London Chancery Lane, Olivia was super attentive and shows great service even though it’s packed these days with ppl applying. They’re great at what they do. Today I came to check for my passport if it was returned from the consulate but unfortunately not yet, but the team were very helpful in getting me the right answers definitely recommended.
