Apart from the long wait time for an appointment and the complete inability to get through to their call centre (just cut off...did not ring once in the 20 or 30 times I tried) they told my wife after submitting that she has to pay with a debit card. I usually pay for everything with a cc and then pay at the end of the month but luckily I had managed to sneak in and wait with her, and good job I did as I had my debit card with me. But this is completely contrary to what it says on their website...it states that they take both debit and credit cards. Last time I am using them.

I put 2 stars only for friendliness. We applied on August 2nd, and I'm literally crying when I am reading that Spanish embassy publish visa randomly from end of July up to August 6th. Really? Who decides that? I think BLS has to be in communication with embassy and do smth. They have a list of people who are checking their visa regularly. There needs to be actions. Common, BLS! U r not only forward managers, we pay not for that. We lost money in PCR tests, hotels, flight… everything. And actually we lost our annual leave. I really wish that all embassy workers on their vacations will spend their time perfectly…. And their Bosses too. How it’s possible not to manage the situation with workload knowing that this is the month with additional student visas stream. I am more than upset! Super angry

The second star is only because of the good customer service I received at the VAC (even after waiting 30 mins - having a scheduled appointment!) but all that was faded by the £41 they charge you for optional services that I did not ask for like SMS notification or passport delivery... which is the worst part: they ordered a STANDARD delivery for my PASSPORT via dxdelivery.com to be delivered the day of my flight and my passport was ready for collection since the previous Friday morning 11am (yesterday) (meaning I could have just pick it up instead during the day and not wait for DX to pick it up and keep it all weekend and wait until whatever time between 7am - 9pm on Monday they choose to deliver it and again, is the day of my flight!!). On DX website I saw they have a service for urgent/important docs with next day delivery for £5.5 and BLS charged me £24.95 for "Special Next Day delivery" and they did not hire express service with DX which maybe would make my passport arrive same day (Friday) later or at least on Saturday.

After my experience twice and going through reviews, I can safely say most EU people are treated very kindly, they get routine appointments so don't pay much for Visas, hence these are the extremely good reviews on here. If non EU treatment seems to be less favourable majority of times. I applied with my husband both non-EU First time April 2019 we got only 12 days Second time round this year February we got charged £364 for 2 applications, in total paid £464 due to notarising sponsorship letter and translating same letter to English, but the form is in English, bearing in mind this is within a year !!! Shengen Visas issued for 3 months only the holiday was for April. Now the country is locked down, meaning we are going to lose the Visas anyway and ofcourse the holiday money! I e-mailed them whether they would consider extending the Visa , the response was all fees are non- refundable appeal if you want! This is insane, despicable for a country that depends so much on tourism. Surely they should have thought about what happens to those Visas impacted by the lockdown due to Covid 19 and consider reasonable extensions to them.

Upon completing my online application, I did not tick “SMS service”. At the appointment, again before paying I asked the lady if the total price included of the admin fee and courier only (I’m exempt of visa fee), and she confirmed it. On the way home I realised they still added SMS service to the whole thing. It costed £1.950 and did not make much difference from what I calculated before that so I did not realise it right away when I paid, but still it shows that they are definitely not honest people. If they really want that money just make it compulsory like the £24.950 next day courier already. Shake my head.
