Was kind of confusing. They werent up front about waiting periods. Had to get clarification on how your wellness program works. Could use some clearer verbiage.

Hi Christina, thank you for your feedback! We share details on the waiting period within our coverage page (https://bivvy.com/why-bivvy) and within the application process. Wellness Care has its own landing page right here - https://bivvy.com/wellness-care. Reach out if we can help you further here!

Signing up for Bivvy was sooo easy! I have not used it, and hope other than Wellness checks that I don’t have to use it! It just makes me feel good knowing that I have invested a minimal amount of money monthly for the protection of my two Maine Coons who mean the world to me.

One of my pets had a limp in her leg on 1/17/2021. I made an appointment with Banfield pet hospital to have an examination on 1/20/2021. The attending vet recommended X-rays. I had x-rays done. I filed a claim with Bivvy on 1/20/21. The claim was denied on 1/26/2021. The reasoning the provided were varying from the representative I spoke with: 1. Since there was no injury or illness diagnosed, the policy does not cover x-rays. a. My response was how can an injury or illness be determined if the attending vet recommends x-rays and Bivvy does not cover x-rays if no injury or illness was determined? 2. Other excuse Bivvy denied my x-ray claim was due to a "pre-existing condition." My dog had a leg surgery on 12/17/2019 for a broken leg. My policy started 2/25/2020. In the vet notes from 1/20/21, they found no bacterial infection or issue with my dogs leg. In the doctor's not it was not determined it was due to her surgery back on 12/17/2019. The doctor's note stated that the issue with her leg "could be" dues to a shift in a pin in her leg from surgery, but that it could not be determined without a surgical consult. I have a surgical consult on 2/18/2021. Bivvy however denied my x-rays claims. The representatives just read from a script to me on their response without further investigation. This policy is a scam. Bivvy is not transparent at all. Per their policy document “We will reimburse you for medically necessary treatment, including tax, for: x-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, and other diagnostic tests.” Bivvy denied my x-ray claims. #cancelbivvy
Response from Bivvy Pet InsuranceJan 27, 2021
Hi Andrew, we're sorry to see you're disappointed! Like all pet insurers, we do not cover pre-existing conditions. We define pre-existing as a condition that first occurred or showed clinical signs before your pet’s coverage started or end of the waiting periods. Information received from your vet indicates the services completed January 20, 2021 were due to a condition in which symptoms first appeared prior to coverage back on December 17, 2019 for the femur repair. As such, we are unable to review these charges for benefits because they are due to a pre-existing condition. We wish you, LuLu and Lexi the very best!
