Bittrex suspended my account without notice or explanation over 4 months ago now. No response from customer service except please be patient, your account is under review. I am a US citizen, had passed KYC, very vanilla trading history and no possible way I broke any ToS. They have stolen my crypto at this point, basically. What a scam.

I have made a deposit to bittrex 2 weeks ago, but they have disabled my account with no explanations. Everytime I write to their support they just keep postponing review of my account. I am so sad with this kind of service, it makes me crazy! Since 29 of October there is no real response to my question on why my account is being disabled + why they don't release my money. I can't even send the money to my own bank.

I tried to open an account with them, and I followed all the steps diligently. After providing them with my ID, and a picture of myself, they sent me an email that additional verification was necessary. I had begun following the steps outlined, but then I came across this section: "Required: Please submit the following 3 images: An image of you looking directly at the camera, another image of you looking off to the right, and a final image of you looking off to the left. All 3 photos are required for all requests." At this point it dawned on me, that this was not really identity verification - they were trying to make take a mugshot of myself as if I am some kind of a criminal. Holding a piece of paper in front at shoulder level, and looking straight, and then left and right? The only thing missing would be the height scale behind. This is just beneath any kind of human dignity. Surely, humiliating customers in this way cannot be a good business model. Also, I would be curious to know what measures they are taking to protect this kind of highly personal data they are asking for. After all nobody wants those kinds of images to be leaked to the web and circulated around. Perhaps a cavity search would be the next logical progression of this kind of "identity verification"?

My account got disabled and after a few months and several emails, it is not fixed yet.

Sent an unsplit bitcoin cash token to them expecting to get a BSV token too. Nope. I knew that they weren't allowing trading of BSV, didn't expect the coin to just disappear. V. disappointed. Would be v. keen to know where the BSV went. Also transferred BCH to Binance, they processed as I expected ie the BSV token appeared. Have cleared my Bittrex account, taken my business elsewhere.

My nephew opened his account in 2016 when verification was NOT mandatory according to the TOS. He used the exchange for a while and made just a couple of trades, then he never accessed his account until 2018. Then he found out the account was disabled without notice and by absolutely no reason! As he asked for some explanation, they answered that in order to unlock the account and release his funds he had to submit his personal data and documents for identity verification. Meanwhile, they announced a change in the exchange TOS which introduced mandatory KYC verification. Then my nephew answered he would NOT accept the TOS change and asked to withdraw his coins and close the account, without verification. Now they refuse instead to release his fund and keep demanding verification before allowing him to close the account! That's totally illegal and against the customer's right to reject any unilateral change, and close the account on the same conditions agreed on opening the account! They deserve not but being sued for scam and embezzlement: beware and stay away from this bunch of SCAMMERS!
