The concept of Bistro MD is really good. The idea of being able to select meals that work for your specific medical needs is where all diet programs need to be. Unfortunately for me, I did not get the promised execution. I have several food allergies and although they are not life threatening or severe, they do cause me discomfort and poor health quality through bowel problems, sinus congestion, inflammation, reduced immune system and poor sleep. I recently joined Bistro MD and explained to Customer service my food allergies and was assured that the meals that contained my allergies would be removed for my meal plan. Although my plan would offer a significant reduction of options, I was ok with that. Unfortunately the meals that were delivered the first week, contained meals with products that I am allergic to? I did not even realize it, because I trusted the customer service would get it right, however, after eating two meals and having several physical reactions, I was suspicious of the meal contents. Sure enough after digging through trash and finding labels, I confirmed what my body was telling me…My food allergens were in the meals I ate. I think Bistro Md has great meals and wonderful selection, but unfortunately they do not deal with food allergies as I had hoped. If you are looking for a diet option that prepares decent meals with lists of selection Bistro MD is a good alternative. But if you have food allergies based on my experience, I cannot recommend Bistro MD and unfortunately I have yet to find another prepared diet option.

A friend of mine recently discontiued her subscription with Bistro MD due to an issue she had with a delivery of food. She filled out her menu as required but upon receipt of the food it was not what she ordered. Upon calling your customer service to complain they gave her a song and dance and told her that she did something wrong. The customer service rep (female) was extremely condesending on the phone and when my friend asked to be credited for that particular order she was told no. I understand mistakes can be made both on your side as well as the customer's side. Your customer service reps should at least try to resolve an issue and keep the customer rather then push them away. I am still a subscriber and do not receive all of my order confirmation emails. With my last two orders I only received one confirmation email. It's not rocketscience to improve customer service. You just need the right players on your team to keep the customer satifisfied

The first week was fabulous! I lost 10 pounds!! Ya! Until you eat normal food (still watching what I ate) then by Monday you have gained all back but 2-3 pounds... Then the meals get worse, the veggies are always overcooked and mushy... Puke! The other thing that really makes your stomach turn is they over use cumin. Eww nasty and you just cant take it by week three. At this point you have finally lost the rest of the weight but now don't loose any more and you throw at least half your meal in the garbage. If you decide to do this program... Choose the seven day and hopefully they will lay off the cumin and stop over cooking their veggies!

Bistro MD has pretty good food. Some are too spicy like the rubs. Some meals had corn and potatoes like white potato fries and I don't think those empty calories should be on the menu the website was not helpful. The convenience was nice to have food for three meals it would be a good menu for Shut-ins.

Breakfast and lunch are mostly well made, tasty filling meals. Dinners fall woefully short of being edible and satisfying, most are thrown away partially eaten. I don't order snacks because they are loaded with chemicals. Be awesome if BistroMD had a breakfast & lunch option, I'd stay on longer as a client. Finally, the web page interface is improving: but I still encounter glitches where the menu does not reset. Although time consuming and frustrating phone calls to customer service, particularly Chris, have been helpful.

Food is pretty good considering it is frozen. 2 or 3 meals I hated, most I like, some I like a lot. The breakfasts are particularly good. I am sick of chicken breast at this point, but I find their sauces to be pretty good. I have found the web site to be difficult - twice I thought I put a hold on as the web site told me and it was not so. I have too much food now. Can't change the credit card online, have to call. East coast time of the company makes it hard for me to call. The shipping is problematic. Huge styrofoam that will not fit in my garbage can, I am putting it in the recycle as I hope it really can be recycled. Comes with dry ice that they warn you not to touch, but bag is always split open and I end up touching it. Have had one meal pop open in shipping. I am not losing weight, but have an extremely busy schedule this semester, so keeping the service for now. No doubt getting better nutrition, but wonder about the vegetables, if they lose all their healthy vitamins in the frozen process.

most of the dishes are good. there are a few that are horrible but the main problem is the weight loss is not there.

I loved the food that I liked. I'm very picky and can't eat some foods. About a third of the menu was still really great. With the ability to customize, I should have been very happy every week. The problem was the constant replacement. I would plan out my whole week, but then some of it would be replaced. My last week out of 21 meals - 11 were replacements that I did not want. That's over 50% of my meals for the week! Customer service is very nice but not very helpful. I asked about replacements, refunds, SOMETHING - and got no help - 3 different weeks. I was told that they couldn't promise what they would have on hand every week. Then why is it on the My Menu for the week? The actual menu for the week wasn't released until after the order was shipped - after which they WILL NOT help. I wasn't allowed to send it back, refuse it, or get a refund. If only My Menu was ACTUALLY my menu, I would still be a customer.
