Donna - I.
Bistro MD is a great program with room for "technical improvements" - while the Web Site is acceptable - it's not as interactive and user friendly as it could be. On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the lowest rating - I'll give it a 6. The food is pretty good for "frozen" and reheated - I've only had two or three entrees that I couldn't force down. I have a few favorites that are quite good - I did the EATS program to include snacks and think it's excellent. My rating for the food quantity is 10 - quaility gets an 8 - overall rating 8 - my biggest disappointment is the "once size fits all" progam - I would have liked to have talked to one of the RD's prior to signing up. Also for price point - I think personal preference should be something that is discussed on the front end. Customer Service - I'll give it a 8 - the people on the phone have been nice but when I ask about talking to an RD ( twice) they always want to answer my questions - it feels scripted and not personal - the advertising leads you to beleive that talking with an RD or even setting up a SKYPE session with the Dr. is easy. I do think the RD email newsletters are a nice touch Results - well they get an 11 for results - I honestly could not beleive that I would have a 10 lb loss eating the quantity of food I was eating. Apparently there is something to their theory of eating attain weight loss. I've decided to give this program another 30 days to see if it can earn a 5th star. I recommend the program to anyone struggling to shed weight - especially if you are time challenged - I blogged about my 30 day experience - keeping track of how energy level and meal choices. In two words IT WORKS.

No "diet" that is serious about the results is "easy" to follow. There are temptations thrown at us all along the way and our mobile lifestyle makes it hard to stick to premade meals. BUT..bistroMD's food has really helped me to get over the hump of changing the way I eat. I have some positives and some negatives. First, the convenience of not having to cook...(husband is very understanding). Having the calories, portions and nutrition already figured out is SO easy. ZAP and EAT. It really is that simple. ZAP and EAT. And, for the most part, I enjoy the food. (could do with less green peppers and not sure how I feel about veggies for breakfast!) I did not weigh myself...I will just eat the meals for a few weeks, take a small break for vacation and come back to plan. Now, a few negatives. The timing of the meals coming...seems they come a day earlier every week. First week came on a Friday, second week Friday, third on a Thurs and last week on a Wednesday. These awful side by side refrigerators don't allow for much food in the freezer...I felt like Lucille Ball at the chocolate factory...frozen meals everywhere and no place to put them all! Another disappointment is only one cheesecake or icecream per week. Seriously?? If it is good for you once, why not twice or three times, if I want it? I don't like cookies...I want the cheesecake ..AND the recipe!! My sweet tooth get the best of me at night and if I could only have my cheesecake at night all cravings would cease. I will be researching a nut based crust so that I can replicate this once I am off of the plan! It is really yummy....Thanks for such a great eclectic variety of ethnic foods...the Indian dishes are wonderful. My selections would have a lot more variety if the chef weren't so fond of green peppers or olives, but that is just me...otherwise the food is pretty tasty! ZAP and EAT!

I appreciate the Gluten free menu. I have been looking for a gluten free program that is easy to use and healthy. I have found it with BistroMD. I like most of the food with the exception of the quinoa which is really inedible. I no longer order any meal with that in it. I also would like to see more variety in breakfasts. A gluten free waffle, pancake or bagel would be nice. The pureed cauliflower is gross and I throw it away. But I love the carrots, green beans, and eggplant, etc. I thought that I had ordered the snacks this week, however, they did not come with my delivery. I reordered for next week and I hope snacks will be with my delivery. Overall, I am very happy with the quality of the food. I am also pleased with the healthy way it is prepared.

I highly recommend mybistromd, the food choices are quite varied and delicious. The amount of food which they give you is a lot and does not leave you feeling hungry. The only thing that could be improved is that their website sometimes throws errors when trying to customize your menu and change meals. If they can fix that small inconvenience then I think this diet system works better than any I have ever tried.

I have been trying different plans or trying to find different plans for several years after gaining almost 50 pounds when I quit eating gluten after being diagnosed with celiac. As a busy small business owner, I am usually just too tired or too rushed to think about it so I eat out a lot or just fix something quick at home. I heard about BistroMD from my brother-in-law who also has celiac. The food is REAL FOOD that tastes GOOD - even my husband, who is not GF, will eat the entrees in a pinch. I like that you can tailor the menu each week to the entrees you like the best although there are really only 2 so far that I haven't cared for. A really good variety of food and some creative combinations. Because we ate out so much, the cost of the food is reasonable to us. In fact, we are actually saving money by not eating out so much and I am getting food that is safer for me. My only bad experience has been with getting my food late one time. Fed EX is not so good in our area and my food came almost a week after it was shipped. However, it was still cool when I got it. The customer service rep said it should still be ok - and it was. The customer service rep I spoke to seemed very unconcerned about it and that kinda bugged me. I could not find where to indicate that I wanted a GF meal plan when I ordered from the website. But I emailed customer service immediately after signing up, and it was fixed right away. So, I have found that as long as I stick to the plan (3 meals and 2 protein bars for snacks) and don't get too crazy with little treats here and there, the weight comes off. Exercise and activity was never the problem altho I was eating too much because I was active. I find that I am not hungry with the smaller portions because the meals are well balanced. I am noting things like portion sizes, preparations (like waldorf salad with no mayo) and food combinations in the hopes that I will be able replicate the meals myself sometime in the future.

Very pleased with Bistro MD. Food is delicious and varied usually consisting of a moderate sized protein paired with one or more excellent vegetable. Being frozen works well for me as I can eat the food whenever I want. Usually I use two meals a day plus a serving of fresh fruit, 1 or 2 Chobani yogurts plus 2 large cups of flavored coffees for total of 1000 calories a day. I eat normally on weekends. I have lost 15 pounds in 2 months. Which is pretty good for a 62 year old woman. The meals are great and I do not feel deprived. All I occasionally add is garlic salt, salsa on egg white dishes. I do not use dietician chats but these are available. I like that you can choose alternate entrees if you don't like the menu and can also avoid food you really don't like.

I broke my foot so cooking for myself and getting out to eat was tough. I ordered a month of meals and was surprised they were very tasty and offered a lot of variety. Most needed a little salt and pepper but were delicious and ready in 3-4 minutes.
